ASTM international has recently approved standard ASTM E2906 /
E2906M – 13 Standard Practice for Acoustic Pulse Reflectometry Examination of Tube Bundles. This method is a core technology of AcousticEye’s non-traversing inspection solution.
AcousticEye Demonstrates with TEAM and Sound Tube Testing
Maintenance NEXT Exhibition in The Netherlands
AcousticEye will join inspection service providers TEAM Industrial
Services and Sound Tube Testing at the upcoming Maintenance NEXT Exhibition in Booth # 3.211 on April 16-18, 2013 in The Netherlands to demonstrate its latest non-traversing inspection technology. A conference presentation will feature information on new developments in pulse refectometry-based inspection. Inspecting Liquid Drain Lines in Nuclear Power Plants
New Opportunity for Non-Traversing APR Technique
Liquid drain lines represent a considerable portion of piping
in nuclear power plants that are proving to be difficult to inspect with conventional non-destructive testing (NDT) methods. Consequently, licensed personnel at nuclear facilities have struggled to assess the integrity of these drain lines as part of an effective buried pipe aging management program. Acoustic Pulse Reflectometry (APR) was identified by a major inspection service provider and utility representative in the U.S. as a potential screening technology for this application. Based on the results obtained and reported during preliminary testing, it has been shown that the APR technique has definite potential for the inspection of drain-line piping. The initial research success has warranted progression to a second, more rigorous, feasibility demonstration and application development phase.
Automatic Tube Sheet Mapping Shortens Job Setup
Simple, Efficient Process for AcousticEye Inspections
Eliminating the time-consuming process typically required for
job setup of conventional inspection systems, AcousticEye’s system includes a fast and easy software utility that creates a computerized model of the heat exchanger tube sheet based on a digital photo, CAD file or scanned schematic diagram. Automatic numbering and mapping is used to establish test plans and track inspection progress. AcousticEye Opens New Logistics Center Local Inventory and Warehouse in Charlotte, NC, USA
As part of the Company’s growing global infrastructure for
customer support , AcousticEye has recently contracted with a 3PL partner in Charlotte, NC, USA. This specialized facility will provide systems, spare parts and consumables storage, a worldwide inventory tracking and fulfillment system as well as reverse logistics and RMA services. Mr. Ophir Dror, VP for Product and Operations at AcousticEye, explained: “Expanding our resources locally ensures that we can provide the responsive, professional field support that is critical to our customers’ success on the job site. This first satellite logistics center in the U.S., which supplements our existing headquarters capabilities, is a strategic step that will help us scale up our operation seamlessly as our installed base continues to increase.”
Presenting Latest Advances in Pulse Reflectometry
American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers Conference
At the upcoming AFPM Reliability & Maintenance Conference and
Exhibition on May 21-24 in Orlando, FL, USA, AcousticEye will present and demonstrate recent developments in pulse reflectometry for non-traversing tube inspection. The conference paper will discuss latest advances that enable ultra-fast detection and enhanced accuracy for greater operational efficiency.
