andeleo Chap Chap party has launched its bid to woe
Kisii County with a view of clinching more seats in the
coming August Polls.
The Kisii County party chairman, Qs. Samson Maisiba Kirioba
who is also an aspiring MP for Bobasi constituency says that his
Party ideologies has what it takes to develop Bobasi and the entire
Kisii County once they are ushered in after the 8th August election.
“Our party is seeking to empower fresh, focused and development
oriented leaders who can articulate and address issues affecting the
electorate,” he says urging the electorate to elect leaders based on
ideology.

A
fter the acrimonious party primaries exercise, now the really
political wars commences in a few weeks where many politi-
cal prayers survived the principle of ‘Survival for the fittest’,
comes in handy from the Orange Party’s’ usual chaos to a reality
calm but shambolic party nominations in the ruling coalitions’ Jubi-
lee party as experts have argued. Kenyans await a real game changer
in the Kenyas’ political dispensation.
A survey released recently by Synovate indicates a major voter apa-
thy as to where majority of Kenyans showed that they are tired with
the way the country is run as also a simple survey on social media
indicates a breakthrough on how many more are frustrated by the
souring economy.
With some of them taking to social media on a clarion call on a
hashtag “Fagia wote” campaign as it seeks to do away with seasoned
politicians from both Jubilee, ODM, Wiper parties from active
politics so as to achieve liberation of the electorate. Many of those
floored have so far have cried foul play and have resorted to run as
“Independent Candidates” which legal experts have so fail differed
on its interpretation with the legal frameworks of party ‘hopping’
courtesy of the Members of parliament who teamed up to pass
amendments to the electoral laws which has so far come back to
haunt them.

Kisii County
The race for the Kisii county representation is changing daily with
major key political players seeking to outshine each other. Gusii star
investigative team analyses how the glimpse of what is expected to
be the Centre
of power to wrestle the governor’s seat from the incumbent. A
number of contenders have shown interest as its expected to be a
battle of political clanism and loyalty to party affiliations to clinch
the seats
Political observers and pundits argue that the race for the gu-
bernatorial seats in Kisii County will be battle royal between the
incumbent governor James Ongwae and Kisii senator Chris Obure a
seasoned veteran politician who decamped from ODM to jubilee
Mzee Obure a one-time ally to Governor Ongwae played a key role
for Ongwae election but now turned political enemy will complica-
te things for his re-election.
Governor Ongwae enjoys ODM support in the region but with the
unveiling of NASA team which leaves Omogusii out of the equa-
tion, Ongwae may have a tough task in defending his seat against
the lineup of opponents though incumbency has its own merits and
advantages.
Mzee Obure’s team incidentally does not have much to bring on
board since the jubilee regime seen to be on the bashing in Kisii
County considering the fact that no member of the community
appears on the party hierarchy other than CS Matiangi who is stru-
ggling to juggle between his Ministerial duties and running political
errands which seem to be counter product.
Manson Oyongo is perceived to be more of a business man than a
political actor. It took him over twenty years to capture the south
Mugirango parliamentary seat and analysts argue that he has not
made much inroads in the county since he declared his interest over
a year ago. But it is too early to write him off as of now.
Nairobi based advocate Lumumba Nyaberi is giving it a second
stab since he lost to Ongwae in the last general elections and much
is not known about his game plan but he complicates the candi-
dature of mzee Chris Obure since both of them come from the
populous Bobasi constituency.
The latest entry of Dr. Charles Omwega a loser in the last election
where he vied for a parliamentary seat in Nyaribari masaba consti-
tuency.
Dr Omwega may be lucky if clan politics play its ugly head, he co-
mes from nyaribari masaba and abanyaribari comprise of the largest
voting bloc in Kisii County.
The two constituencies of Nyaribari Masaba and Nyaribari Chache
boost of the largest vote bank and have not fielded any governor
though they have two aspirants for senatorial seat, mzee Prof On-
geri representing ODM and lawyer Charles Nyachae representing
jubilee. Our team gathered that Dr Charles Omwega’s undoing is
the financial war otherwise he may give the other aspirants a rough
time as it is said that he is relatively young and well educated.
The Senatorial seat has attracted Charles Nyachae (Jubilee), Prof.
Sam Ongeri (ODM), Omingo Magara (PDP). While the Women
rep seat has Doris Nyaboke Aburi (Donya) of Jubilee, Nominated
senator Janet Ong’era (ODM) among others.
NYAMIRA COUNTY
The gubernatorial contest in Nyamira county seem to be an inte-
resting one after the sham primaries for the orange “democratic”
movement where the incumbent John Obiero Nyagarama “troun-
ced” his two opponents, Dr James Gesami Member of parliament
for West Mugirango who it is rumored was supported by Kitutu
Masaba member of parliament Timothy Bosire who also doubles
as ODM’s national treasurer, Charles Geni “Makuti” (North
Mugirango Mp) and Alice Chae the Nyamira county women
representative.
Governor Nyagarama “beat” Dr. Gesami by garnering a paltry
number of votes. The outcome that Gesami protested and is said
to be running as “independent candidate”. Another little known

The Nyamira County Gubernatorial race seem to be exciting since
it has attracted the largest number of retirees or “pensioners” so to
say. Our spot check gives a damning impression on the aspirants
from the potential voters who argue that the “face of Nyamira”
may not be well represented if the county residents and voters equa-
te the role of a governor to “nyumba ya wazee”.
“I am surprised that younger people with managerial skills have
decided to leave the seat of governor to this old retired men to run
for a serious position like this. I wish I had a degree, my diploma is
not acceptable I would have contested to save the county from this
shameful joke” Jackson Omwenga a trader in Nyamira County says.
Sentiments which are echoed by Hellen Ombou from Gesiaga as he says its wrong that our
young men have left it to the old men.
“We will continue to have rejects to represent us, former mps who did nothing are now
running to be governors and they have nothing to show during their time as mps, the cu-
rrent governor has done nothing on water, roads women empowerment, I might note vote”.
Just like Kisii County, Nyamira County Gubernatorial may be based On clan dynamics but
with a number of young voters who vote on issues and track record, aspirants may be re-
quired to do more in terms of reaching out to potential voters on issue and policy matters
to win them into their camps. Another aspect has been the underlying clan machinations
propelled by the politicians against the populous Abagirango clans and the Abagetutu clan
who feel that they were left out in the last elections since Abagirango took both the Senator
and Governors seat.
Gusii star has established that the larger number of
employees of the Nyamira county hail from Kitutu
Masaba therefore the political propaganda by ‘selfish’
politicians might not hold against the incumbent or
any other aspirant from other clans.
Observers are waiting to know how ODM will deal
with divisions amongst its members in Nyamira
County considering the fact that the three Mps who
were awarded direct nominations do not support the

Woes behind Nyachae’s
Senatorial Candidature

ince he declared his intent
to vie for Senatorial seat in
Kisii County in the August
polls, Charles Nyachae’s candi-
dature has not that much been
felt. Political pundits observe
that Nyachae made a wrong
move for running for the senate
seat instead he would have run
for governorship post in line with
the locals.
According to Kisii based political
analyst Jared Onsombu says
Nyachae miscalculated, adding
that would have run for guber-
natorial seat in line with what
people on the ground expected of
him.
“He made a wrong move, a gover-
norship post was ideally for him.
For now he stands to lose since
his candidature has not been
that much been felt. The reason
being he went against the wishes
of many;” says Onsombu.

James Gesami has announced
that he will vie for the seat as
independent candidate in the August
polls.
Mr Gesami who is also West Mugiran-
go Member of Parliament had contes-
ted in the Primaries with incumbent
Nyamira governor John Nyagarama
in the exercise which was marred with
chaos.
Despite the public outcry that the
primaries be nullified over massive
irregularities, Nyagarama was declared
legitimate winner in the exercise some-
thing which prompted Gesami to file a
petition to challenge his victory.
Mr Gesami who has since withdrawn
the petition he filed against Nyagarama
says he did so because he feared that
he may not be served with justice since
ODM party leader Raila Odinga met
his competitor secretly in undisclosed
Hotel in Nairobi where the duo had
lunch together.
Gesami further alleged that he was the
one who won the nominations adding
that he was denied his victory in the
broad day light.
However, ODM Treasurer Timothy
Bosire says that the petition filed by
Gesami is being looked at to ascertain
what exactly transpired in the just
conclude primaries which were rocked
with violence.

Despite being in the forefront for
Gusii Jubilee team spearheaded
by 7 area legislators and Kisii
Senator Chris Obure to drum
support for re-election of Uhuru,
Nyachae’s impact is not likely to
deliver much.

of Jubilee supporters during
president Uhuru’s visit in Gusii
Stadium the crowd became so
hostile for him prompting him
to cut short his speech and allow

the county", he warned.
He also added that he would work
with foreign investors to invest in
Nyamira County and create jobs for
the youth.

that infrastructure, being the backbone of
the economy, needs a consultative approach
when being addressed. He cites poor road
networks, lack of proper market facilities
and insecurity as the major hindrance of
growth of the constituents.
“In any place where roads are Impassible,
we cannot expect to have any business grow-
th, therefore there is need for better roads
to help our people access a better market
for their produce,” he said.
Maisiba also sees an opportunity for his
people in tourism which he says has been
neglected.
“Since Bobasi and Maasai Mara national
Park, a great tourist attraction reserve is
only 80 kilometers apart, there is need to
have a business connectivity between the
two areas through a good road network.
“If elected, I will lobby for the creation
of a major superhighway from Nairobi
through Maasai Mara reserve to Kisii via
Bobasi to Lake Victoria of Homabay coun-
ties to improve tourism activities across the
counties. This will encourage investors to
build better tourist hotels and restaurants in
Bobasi hence creating employment for our
youth and a greater return for the investors,”
he said.
Maisiba says if elected, he will ensure
youths and women empowerment funds are
utilized and also he will seek for partner-
ships that will sponsor Small Medium
enterprises among the unemployed youth in
the constituency.
He also urged the electorate to be wary of
those politicians giving out handouts in this
electioneering period.
“It does not matter how much a politician
can give you during campaigns but what
matters is what he will do after you have
elected him where he will be earning a
monthly salary for five years. What should
matter is how much you as a voter will gain
for the five years,” he said.
The flamboyant politician says he will seek
to develop a policy that will create Techni-
cal and vocational training institutions in
all wards, so as to train artisans, Plumbers,
Masons, Mechanics, Hairstylists, groomers,
Electricians among others with basic skills,

force in the region with a readily available
employment.
On health, Maisiba says that the County
needs to ensure that hospitals within the
constituency are equipped to better services
to the residents.
He further says that Health trained practi-
tioners should be empowered and encoura-
ged to procure the most advanced medical
equipment’s and they get installed within
the constituency facilities, to help stop
further deaths and avoid people seeking
medication outside the constituency.
“As an MP I will seek to have laws to give
incentives, empower and encourage medical
practitioners to seek and procure the most
advanced medical equipment’s in the world
and install the same within the constituen-
cy. This will require an appeal to National
government to allow tax free purchase and
tax holidays hence improving the health
welfare of the people,” he said.
Maisiba says that medical practioners and
the equipment’s can be subjected for public
and private hospitals to have both private
and public wings to cater for various needs
of the electorate.
“We can have laws to enhance private
business be supported and both wings
(Private and Public) just like Kenyatta
Referral Hospital replicated in all hospitals.
In return have cheap healthcare within the
constituency,” he said.
In ensuring the electorate is well repre-
sented, Maisiba seeks to ensure that all
leaders are accountable and have clear ways
to enhance public money protection using
his skills in the Quantity Surveying and
arbitration profession.
However to achieve this Maisiba says that
he will seek to table a bill that will seek to
create Village Committee’s, the equiva-
lent of Community Policing initiative to
monitor, identify and evaluate development
projects within different wards in the
constituency.
“It’s the only way to give powers to the peo-
ple and empower the people. The Village
committees will monitor, evaluate, recom-
mend and partner with community policing
on what to be given priority that will cater
for the enhancement of the development in
the society,” said Maisiba.

Every state apparatus was marsha-
led towards an issue that had quickly
become a national problem. Indeed
these efforts were rewarded when
the ICC dropped all the charges
against the president and, later, his
deputy.
At first, Uhu-Ruto could have been
forgiven for committing much of their
energy and resources to fighting off
the ICC ghost. But as soon as that
chapter was closed, the digital duo
turned theatrics about staying in
power, at least, up to 2032. Uhuruto
had quickly forgotten about laptops,
the standard-gauge railway, the fight
against corruption, the promise of
uniting the country, and the provi-
sion of security to all Kenyans.
Meanwhile, Al Shabaab was beco-
ming ever bolder, invading our chur-
ches, universities, military bases,
shopping malls, and polices stations,
leaving unspeakable damage in their
wake. The SGR project was stalling
after money was allegedly siphoned
off or diverted to the individual poc-
kets. Unable to keep pace with the
endemic corruption in our business
modus operandi, Uganda and Rwan-
da quickly withdrew from the SGR
project; Sudan would soon follow
soot, withholding their involvement
in the LAPSSET project. Adding to
this dismal picture, the auditor-gene-
ral’s report unleashed a bombshell
on the under-hand dealings within
government, with several ministers
being involved in new scandals.
While all this goes on, Jubilee’s
boisterous top-brass has continued
living in denial, often bragging
about supplying electricity even to
grass-thatched rural homes. DP

support-grounds of Kericho, Bomet,
Narok, and Baringo. In Uasin Gishu,
a loud fall-out looms when incum-
bent governor Jackson Mandago and
Ruto’s handmaiden Buseki face off
in the party nominations. If anything
goes woefully wrong, the DP’s poli-
tical empire is bound to go further
down the drain.

99 percent of the serving leaders got their way to power
through this and let us not continue living in deception
that voter bribery is’ illegal’ it is not but in is part of us
and it will be passed to generations after generation.
We have been singing, glorifying and dancing to it during
the electioneering period. Whoever refuses to dance the
tunes of the handouts is considered a political outcast
and rejected altogether by dough poisoned electorate.
This trend has been there and it seems not end any time
soon unless and otherwise the relevant authorities take
stringent measures to end the vice.
Also, voter education and awareness should be encou-
raged so that the trend that has been set by various
leaders to ‘buy’ their victory through bribing voters can
end. The awareness can encourage the electorate why
they need accountable, and responsible leadership to
protect their interests in various counties as well as in
the National and Senate Assemblies.
It’s quite unfortunate that the society has lived to believe
in being bribed so that they can vote. Instead let’s focus
on various candidates’ manifestos and what they have
to change lives of the electorates. In the meantime:
The 2017 election will be over, there will be losers and
winners, That means that there are far more important
issues upon which all of us need to be addressed and
given attention attention.

isii is one of the industrious
and economic sensitive
communities in Kenya. One
cannot fail to notice our healthy
competition among those at home and
in Diaspora. Were it not for the ‘devol-
ved ‘corruption that our governments
have been propagating to an extent
of building expensive hospital gates
without matching our healthcare, ours
could be a flourishing economy.
Sometimes when we think the
economy is stalled, it turns to be the
opposite. When Traversing both coun-
ties via Keroka through Nyangusu to
Kilgoris, One thing, sticks hard; the
many unused buildings along the road
in the name of Dukas (Shops). They
are aligned on either side especially a

Obure; Apolitical Hero Or Villain?

As campaigns hot up in Kisii As cam-
paigns hot up in Kisii County and the
country for the August 8th this year’s
National elections, there has risen
heated debate among the electorate
about the real political identity of
Kisii Senator and now gubernatorial
aspirant in the county.
Others call him a political subsist and
buccaneer while others call him an in-
telligent and visionary political leader
never void of championing personal
needs first.
Majority of his critics view him as an
experienced expert and opportunistic.
They say that his quest for political
powers has been characterized with
trickery and selfish diligent schemes
for the last four decades.
Those on the well know trace his
carefully calculated political prowess
and opportunism to back in the early
1970s.This is the time when he was
fresh from University with all aca-
demic accolades attached to higher
education and its possessors not only
in Kenya but also in the whole of East
Africa.
In addition to the acquisition of the
desired education, the then vivacious
young man Obure, was a talented
footballer, a trait he embraced to gain
popularity from the adults and the
youth in his constituency.
His love of football made him a
darling to football fans who knew
him as ‘’Egesora Nyabirore’[Strong
determined youth] and therefore they
suggested, he could be the most suita-
ble member of parliament for them.
He took that advantage to outmatch
the then oratory and confident MP
from Majoge Basi constituency now
the late Zephaniah Mogunde Anyieni
whom he trounced and became the
new area legislator.
On taking power he dwelt on develo-
pment activities rather than dwelling
on political rhetoric unlike his prede-
cessor Zephania Mogunde and this
attracted more support for him from
the electorate.
It was during his tenure in parliament
when he used his time, position and
influence to divide Majoge Basi into
two constituencies of Bomachoge
and Bobasi,
He calculated this to a void more
opposition from Bomachoge and
remain in Bobasi where he would
dominate by staying in parliament for
many terms as possible.
The plan worked well for him althou-
gh he sometimes faced opposition
from Stephen Manoti. Whom they
have been alternating Bobasi parlia-
mentary leadership since the consti-
tuency was created.
In 1980s Obure was one of the
powerful politicians in Gusii land and
therefore had to make many decisions
in Moi’s KANU government when
comer’s and his ministers’ words were
law.
Obure used this excessive power to
politically silence politicians from

Gusiiland whom he could perceive
to be a threat to his supremacy and
therefore misinformed president Moi
in all ways to use him to silence this
seemingly rivals.
It was at this point Obure ganged up
with other politicians to blackmail
Simeon Nyachae before Moi ad this
saw Nyache being locked out from
vying the Nyaribari parliamentary seat
on a KANU ticket.
The selfish Obure blindly misled the
then members of parliament from Gu-
siiland Dr. Zachary Onyonka, Kitutu
chache, Sam Ongeri Nyaribari, David
Onyancha West Mugirango and Obure
himself from Bobasi to gang against
Nyachae.
In a veil of Gusii Unity, Obure tricked
the three MPs to declare a common
working agreement meant for power
clinging and superiority. They met
at Kebirigo town and named their
assertion Kebirigo declaration under
the 4- Os.
Its main objective was to find ways
of locking out Nyachae for political
superiority and they almost succeeded
for some time until the time when the
never let-go Nyachae found his way
until he became Nyabari chache MP
and consequently finance minister in
the Moi regime.
From there the political enmity
between Ongeri, the late Dr. Zachary
Onyonka and Obure did not end as
they never shared any political fora for
a long time except at funeral ceremo-
nies.
The no nonsense Simon Nyachae ser-
ved Moi’s government with dedication
and expected some reward probably
support for presidency which he am-
bitiously wanted.[ Mzee Simone Nya-
chae is a workaholic man, if you never
saw him working look at the recurrent
CS Dr. Fred Matiang;who has openly
admitted he reads Nyache’s notes for
leadership]
Nyachae resigned on principles from
the financial post because of what he
called ‘being give an empty treasury
to man and therefore never wanted
the county’s economy to collapse in
his hands and yet he never caused the
financial its drainage.
Moi realized that he was going to lose
political foothold in Gusiiland and
therefore he had to stitch his political
cloth before it turned into rags.
He replaced Nyachae with Chris
Obure who took the position with glee
because he never cared whether his
brother was hurt so long as he himself

was comfortable. Fortune or good
scheming, the political experts say mi-
ght have seen him survive here but left
political bitter wounds on Nyachae.
Nyachae resigned from active politics
but one wonders whether the two
elders met anywhere to heal their
differences before these days when
we see the junior Nyachae seemingly
trying to work together with Obure.
But remember that when Simeon
Nyachae was looking for presidency
Obure never supported him. Too, Nya-
chae supported Stephen Manoti who
went to parliament through Nyachae’s
Ford People Party as Obute remained
in the cold.
Among them was Bomachoge Mp.
Joel Onyancha who seemed to be
inquisitive about the misapplication
of resources that were meant for
Bomachoge but were taken to Bobasi
by Obure when the three constituen-
cies Bobasi, south Mugirango and
Bomachoge were still together in one
district called Gucha
The three MPs from the constituen-
cies met at Ogembo town under the
Umbrella of the District Commis-
sioner [DC] to deliberate on District
development maters.
This is where reportedly Obure
took advantage of the unpredictable
tempers of former MP for Bomachoe
Zephania Nyangwara who either
absconded the District Development
Committees or matched out on protest
from the meetings and left his consti-
tuency shares being taken by Obure.
Some of this shares included allo- Senator Obure during Jubilee function

When Obure sensed the curiosity of
the youthful Onyancha in parliament

and there was by election in Bo-
machoge where Simeon Ogari won
through the ODM ticket which was
steered by Obure.
The visionary Obure sensed danger of
the duo. He abandoned their camp and
joined Raila Odinga’s political camp
hoping that he would get a bigger
share if Raila became the president.
Politics being what it is, Uhuru and
his running mate William Ruto took
power as Raila failed.
Obure was able to take the Kisii
senatorial seat and reportedly assisted
James Ongwae to become Kisii
governor.
One wonders what made Obure to
salivate for the gubernatorial seat and
smother the child [Ongwae] he has
nurtured.
Is he becoming opportunistic as
usual, tricking the son Of Nyachae,
Jimmy Angwenyi and all others in the
Jubilee pot from Gusii land?

Drama unfolded in Kisii town when a man was
caught red handed cheating on his wife. The woman
of the house laid a trap on him after she got wind
over her hubby’s promiscuous. On the proverbial
day the man picked his clande and took her to his
egg depot situated at St Jude’s ground floor for a
quickie. Before he could start licking his stolen
honey jar he heard a loud bang on the door. On
opening he was greeted by all sorts of unprintable
epithets from his infuriated wife who demanded the
answers as to why he locked himself with a woman
inside business room. The hell broke loose, the man
remained tight lipped and forced himself out of the
kennel size depot and vanished into thin air leaving
behind his sweetie on the mercies of his legal wife.
As a lesson the woman of the house locked the

Buyers and sellers in a Nyamira Market were
treated to a free spectacle when a convoy selling
herbals were chased out of the market for their

Take a few strides or ride a motorcycle
from Kisii town along the Kisii- Kisu-
mu Road then branch at Daraja Mbili
market on your left. A five minutes’
walk will land you at Nubia village at
the periphery of Kisii town.
Children playing at the once large
open field but now encroached with
vegetable, maize yards and buildings
gives you an impression of a homes-
tead or village setting.
The kids throw and kick a ball made
of old polythene bags to one another
alternatively. Sometimes the ball
dodges and bypasses the recipient then
lands near a flock of sheep that is stiff
scared and runs away helter- skater
with their tails up.

Kisii community are up in arms
against the National Land
Commission [NLC] on land lose

One poultry farmer is saving about
nine shillings per kilo on commercial
feed by mixing coarse maize flour
with Omena residue, a process which
he says is reducing the cost of pro-
duction while increasing the profits
margins.
Meshack Mogaka, who rears chicken
upon orders from customers, said
the local mixing has saved him from
incurring extra costs in commercial
feeds to get same results as for more
than two years. Before, he was using
feed bought from the shop.
“Business is about making profits
after satisfying the customer. From
every six kilos of the locally made
feeds, I save about Sh50. The amount
makes sense when dealing with large
quantities of feeds and high numbers
of chicken,” he said.
Mogaka buys low grade maize from
farmers, between Sh20 and Sh25 per
a two-kilogram tin. The tin is ground
into coarse flour at Sh15. The total
expenditure amounts to Sh40 for the
two kilos.
For every six kilograms of grade three
maize flour, he adds one Kilograms
of the red omena residue, which he
said is richer in proteins and other
nutrients than commercial feeds.
He spends Sh220 in processing the
six kilos, whose commercial equivalent
cost is Sh270.

“Soon after hatching, I offer the chic-

until after five weeks before gradually
introducing the local mix. By the start
of the sixth week, they are on the local
feed. It is done gradually to avoid fee-
ding stress in the young birds,” he said.

search of food. Although destroying the colony of
the ants remains the best solution, application of
grease on the posts holding the hives also helps.
Any crawling ants attempting to move up get
stuck,” Atuya said.
Stuck ants eventually suffocate and starve to
death while on the posts.
Safari and sugar ants are some of the common
crawling enemies that feed on honey, and at
times the larvae.
Since the bees cannot sting the invaders back,
they move out of the hive, and in worst scenarios
abscond. It is a cheap way of dealing with these
intruders, but it has to be applied regularly to be
effective.
“Grease cannot be washed away by rain. Besides
stopping the safari ants, the oil product keeps
termites off, therefore, the posts will not be eaten
up,” the Nyamira North Sub-county livestock pro-
duct officer said.
One of the farmers, Nyambane Mangera’s bees
swarmed outside the hive in readiness to move
away.
Although there was no evidence of safari ants’
invasion, the officer asked the farmer to inspect
the hive later in the evening while in safety attires
to ascertain the cause.
Other flying enemies like the wax moth can cause
the bees to abscond. The moth’s threadlike
excretions cover the larvae cells as it feeds on the
combs.
Mangera was asked to use a catch-box in holding
the colony and after getting rid of the parasites,
he can return the bees into the hive.
The officer, however, said there is no guarantee
that the bees will stay in the hive again because
they have been pushed out.
In case they abscond, he can place the hive so-
mewhere else for a new colony before bringing it
back to the bee-house.
Mangera is a member of Riambocho Women
Group, which has 14 women and three men.
The officer also visited Geturi Vision Women
Group in the same locality of Magwagwa. The bee
groups are supported by the World Vision and
Nyamira County.

But this is just a dream if we are not ready
to embrace the change in the way we han-
dle morals in the society, the learning in-
stitution have been entrusted on imposing
discipline only to a certain degree because
if “overdone” the discipline master will
face the law.
A society with good morals bring about
growth both socially, politically and even
economically because people with good
morals are disciplined people who carry
themselves with highest degree of honor
and dignity. If we want a better society
which transcends to a better country it is
upon us all to embrace good morals start-
ing from the very core unit of the society

second half Kisii team opted to
defend leaving no chance for
Migori to break through their
well-built defense wall.
Attempts for Kisii to look for a
