Data Processing
The data we obtained from the experiment is the height of sluice gate (Yg), height of the water
surface at the upstream (Yo), frequency of the water (f), and the width of the weir (b). The
results from our experiment is as follows
b = 0,3 m

Where the desired value of

𝐶𝑐 = 0.61
𝐶𝑣 = 0.95 < 𝐶𝑣 < 1.0
Surcharge can be obtained by using this formula
𝑄 = 𝐶𝑑 × 𝑏 × 𝑌𝑔 × √2 × 𝑔 × 𝑌𝑜

𝑄
𝐶𝑑 =
𝑏 × 𝑌𝑔 × √2 × 𝑔 × 𝑌𝑜
Where
𝑄 = Discharge (L/s)
𝐶𝑑 = Coefficient of discharge
𝑏 = Width of the weir
𝑌𝑔 = Height of sluice gate (mm)
𝑌𝑜 = Height of water surface at the upstream (mm)
g = Gravity (9.8 m/s2)

From this formula, it can be derived into several formulas below

Making a graph of relationship between the value of Yg/Yo versus Cd and Cv, with different
values of Cd and Yo. Therefore there will be 4 graphs of different Cd and Cv value.
- The first graph is the graph of Cd and Cv vs Yg/Yo when Yo = 0,22 m.
