In the near 100-degree days of mid-August, the eleven new National Scholars were
welcomed to Clemson and the Program during a three-day retreat. A team of upperclass

HOT TiMES
Scholars planned and carried out the retreat, which in-
cluded a full day of rafting, several group decision-making
exercises, a book discussion and a high ropes course.
Special thanks to team leaders Damon Andrews and Colby Mistovich, and team
members Allison Foreman, Ben Garrison, Rahul Loungani, Bethany Moore, and
Suzanne Sawicki.
