This company profile showcases the knowledge’s that we had learned from our English
116. We will apply the skills we had learned about the different types of rhetorical moves, writing
process. Honda Cinemar Trader and Son’s Motor Parts Dealer will be the center of our
discussion.
Our discussion will focus on the company’s historical background, form of business
organization they engage with likewise their accounting system as well as their marketing
strategies to make their companies competitive & profitable.
This includes also the comparison and contract of the two companies.

Historical Background of Honda Cinemar Traders Inc.

Honda is one of the most trusted brands of motorcycle in the world, and it is also the
largest manufacturer as well. Honda is also a part of more than just auto and motorcycles they
also make garden equipment, marine engines and personal water craft and power generator.
Soichiro Honda is the one who established the Honda Technical Research Institute in 1946. Its
first small motorcycle, called the “Dream D” came out in 1949. The first shop Honda was
opened in Los Angeles in the 1950’s. Within decade Honda would be the top manufacturer of
motorcycles in the world. At first the small dirt bikes where a popular camp bike and where used
for running to the pit toilets or just running around camp. Honda has always been race inspired
and the development of the dirt bikes, to lead to the company taking the win in the first Baja
100, held in 1967. Honda has made changes to the best-selling luxury touring motorcycle in the
Gold Wing. And nowadays Honda branch is not only built in Los Angeles but also in the other
country. Our country also has many branches and dealers of Honda. One of the dealers of
Honda in our country is the Cinemar Trader Inc. The Honda Cinemar Trader Inc. has also many
branches in our Country and one of them is in Tacloban.
Honda cinema trader in Tacloban was built last February 4, 2003 at 187 P. Gomez St.
Tacloban City. It was the 7th branch of Honda Cinemar Traders here in Visayas. The name
cinema has a small history it was called Cinemar when the first two letter of the name of the
owners was combined. Ci was came from the name of the owners Mr. Ciriaco Tan, Ne from his
wife’s nickname Nene, and Mar from the name of their siblings Marlon Tan, Marlyn Tan, Marilyn
Tan and Mariton Tan.
Cinemar is a 3’S Shop (sales, services and spare parts) Inc. also starts small business
like others. They start to sell Yamaha motors w/ their small capital. And since they are just
starting in the 1st year of their business they only composed of 7employees, the Manager,
Cashier, Bookkeeper, Mechanics, LTO Processor and the Utility. After of 7 years operation of
Cinemar Trader Inc. here in Tacloban they were continuing their operation. Because of their
determination they’ve gor an award in the year 2009 as the best service in whole Visayas.
Types of Business Organization

There are three major forms of business organizations. These include the Sole
Proprietorship, Partnership & Corporation.
The Honda Cinemar Traders is incorporation composes of more than five members.
These are owned by the Tan families.
There employees compose a Manager who manages and the one who is monitoring the
flow of the business, especially for the cash payments and cash receipts. The bookkeeper on
the other hand is responsible for the recordings of every transactions of the business. They
have also the L.T.O Processor is the one who registered the motorcycle for the owner. Since
the business accepted installment they have a Collector or the (CSR) credit sales representative
who went to the places of their customers for the collection of monthly payable of the
customers. In relation to their services they offered to the customers they hired mechanics and
lastly they have a utility/security guard who is responsible for the safety not only the business
but all the employees who are working in the establishments.

Marketing Strategy

In relation to the marketing strategy let’s know first what is marketing?

Marketing is the process by which company’s customer’s interest in goods or services. It
helps to generate the strategy that underlies sales technique business communication, and
business development.
In concern, the Honda Cinemar Trader Inc. considers their marketing strategies to build
strong customer relationship and create value for their customers and for themselves. Their
adoption of marketing strategies requires their business to shift their focus production to provide
needs and wants of their customers as the means of staying profitable.
As we go along we can know the different marketing strategies of Honda Cinemar
Trader Inc. in terms of product, price, place and promotion.

Product/Services
There are so many business is presently operation with similar but not identical products
or services offered to the customer. Honda Cinemar Traders Inc. considers the factors that can
help to have a sallable and profitable products. One factor is the brand. They choose Honda as
their main products for sales. Accordingly, they choose these because they know it has a high
quality and can be trusted to assure that their products were originals and durable. Some of
their products include different models of Honda Motorcycle in specific field of use. In
connection, they sell also Honda oils, Honda motor parts, Honda motor accessories.
In addition with the products, they are also selling Honda Marine Engines, Honda
generators and Honda brush cutter.
Furthermore, Honda Cinemar Trader offens also different motor services just like tune
up, change oil and motor repairs.
