INTRODUCTION

Education is the process of facilitating learning, skills, values, beliefs, and habits.
Educational methods include storytelling, discussion, teaching, training, and directed research.
Education frequently takes place under the guidance of educators or mostly known as teachers,
but learners may also educate themselves. Education can take place in formal or informal
settings. Example of formal setting is by attending schools, universities and others. While
informal setting is where one learnt a new thing and knowledge from their experience. A right
to education has been recognized by some governments and the United Nations. Even in most
regions, education is compulsory up to a certain age.

Education had evolved since the early age until the globalization era which is now. It had
evolved in such many ways. One of the clear changes is on the availability of institution. Then,
number of institutions are inadequate. People need to travel far away from home and surely
will be off for quite a time in order to gain knowledge formally. Unlike today, universities are
just a stone throw away from home. Even, the distance from one university to another are just
a walking distance. This is due to the increase of population and awareness of knowledge
among human. A recent report by British Council revealed that the number of outbound
students across the world is expected to increase by 1.7 per cent annually on average between
2015 and 2027 (Zulita Mustapha, 2018).

As the number of student increase, the 19’s university or old university will facing problem
of inadequate hostel to home the amount of student. This can be proven by observing the local
university. For example UiTM Shah Alam. Presently, Shah Alam is host to 45.5% of the total
number of students, while the rest are distributed over the other campuses, with Perlis campus
handling the biggest number (6.3%) (UKEssays, 2016). This resulting on enormous number of
off-campus students. This had caused off-campus student to just rely on personal transportation
or public transportation to go to their university.

In some location, public transport are unavailable. So, there is no other access to the
university except personal transport. This had caused in the increase number of vehicles by
year. As the university have no free ground to provide enough parking spaces for student,
especially those who are using cars, parking illegally will occur. This had resulted on various
problem for both the authorities and students. The parking system that used in the Shah Alam
campus were open-space parking for students or visitors and staff card entry and exit system.
In this report, we will be focusing more on Mechanical Engineering Faculty and those which
are nearby.
