Honorable ones the juries, the teachers , and all audiences.

Let me introduce myself. My name is FIRLY A.R. from 5th grade Al Muslim Elementary School. Today I
would like to give a speech about i read i work. Before that,I would like to invite you to thank to Allah the
Almighty, Who has given us Mercy and Blessing, so we can meet together in this blessing place. And also I
don’t forget to deliver sholawat and salam to our prophet Muhammad SAW, Who has brought us from the
darkness to the brightness, so we are always in the right way.
Ladies and gentlement,
Reading. Do you often hear that? Yes, reading is something that’s already familiar to us, because reading is an
ability that should be owned by everyone. However, lately many
young generation prefer access social media rather than reading. Why? because they think that reading is
bored. Actually, by reading, we will get 2 points , 1) will increase our knowledge; 2) will motivate to work
First idea, reading will increase our knowledge. Of course,reading is very important to develop and increase
knowledge. By reading, a person can know the world. We will understand something without we don’t see by
ourselves. Most people think that reading is boring, especially if it doesn’t display readings. Is it right?
Reading is an amazing thing. Why not? Every paragraph that we read can includes a lot of knowledge. It
could be knowledge of technology,sains,society,culture,etc. That’s why, with makes reading a habit,we can
get more knowledges in every aspect, and be a smart human. From that habit,we can feel that reading isn’t
boring at all.If we have comfortable in reading, we will always wanna know about anything that we will
know.
Second idea, reading will motivate us in the work,and knowledge of technology are needed to improve the
quality of human’s life and train ourselves to be ready to face the globalization era. Technology development
didn’t simply, but starting with the higher thinking. What is higher thinking? Have you ever hear that? Higher
thinking is thinking wich includes skill such as creative thinking,critical analysis,problem solving,and
visualization.
Do you know Prof.Nelson Tansu? He is the youngest proffesor of Indonesian origin in the United State. This
time,he became a proffesor at the Lehigh University,Pensilvania and teaching students at the master’s
level(S2),doctorate(S3) and postdoctoral Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.While still in
elementary school,Nelson love reading biographies of famous phsycists. He greatly admired their
achievements because many phsycists who have earned a doctorate,became a proffesor, even some phsycists
who managed to create a theory,like Albert Einstein when he still young. Since then,Nelson began motivated
to become a proffesor and now he could realize his dream. That a proff that the reading can motivate us to
work.
Dear ladies and gentleman, but it so sad if we hear many young generation lazy to read. They prefer access
social media,however reading can give us knowledge,inspiration,and motivation. I hope, Indonesian society
may better understand the importance of reading and raised awareness to get used to reading, so we are better
prepared to face the globalization era. Remember this!
