TECHNICAL REPORT WRITING IN MARITIME INDUSTRY

Paragraph Writing

A seaman should not enter an unmanned space machinery space unless he has
given permission by the officers in charge while in the space, reports by telephone
must be made at regular intervals to the duty Deck Officers. A seaman should only
do the task which he has been specifically told to do so.

If any job is beyond his capability, he should obtained assistance. The


Engineer Officer in charge must be informed by the seaman in person where he
leaves the space. All measures pertaining safety must be adhered to when working
in an unmanned space in order to avoid untoward events or unexpected accidents.

Correction:

A seaman should not enter an unmanned space if he has no permission from the
Officer in charge. At regular intervals reports should be made through telephone. A
seaman should only do work which he was tasked.

If it is beyond his capability, he should obtained help. The Engine Officer


must be notified personally when he left the space. All safety precaution must be
followed when working in unmanned space to avoid accidents.
