VIII. Course Description : This course introduces the students to modelling and simulation concepts.
Topics discussed in the course include system analysis and classification, abstract and simulation models, continuous, discrete,
and combined models, and heterogeneous models. It also covers pseudorandom number generation and testing, queuing
systems, Monte Carlo method, continuous simulation, and simulation experiment control.
IX. Course Outcomes : Common to the Discipline (BSIF,BSIS and BSCS)
1. Develop a simple model abstraction of a defined system;
2. Identify components and limitations of a model;
3. Perform simulation experiments on a modelled system;
4. Demonstrate analytical skills in assessing results of modelling and simulation procedure; and
5. Apply adept selection of modelling and simulation schemes on a given system.
