Social Media for teens? Commented [1]: Parker! Thank you for trying your
best on your essay and working hard! This was one of
your best assignments!
Social media is an online tool that everyone can post pictures, talk to friends, and express

yourself. Social media helps you collaborate with people and friends, but it can also ruin your

relationships. Social media can make you, or it can break you. I am for teens having social media

because it can help you find friends, boost your self confidence, and help educate you of

upcoming events. Teens should be able to learn and explore real life and express themselves

through social media.

One reason that teens should have social media is it can help you find friends.

If you have a friend that you don't get to see a lot, you can message or snapchat them. A article

written by the Baltimore Sun says,”It can help teens find social support.”and,”It can be a useful

resource for teens.” This was said by Dr. Drew Pate. Social media can help you bond with your

peers.

Another reason is social media can boost your self confidence. If someone likes your

picture that can make a teen feel good about themselves. “They seem to be less likely to

experience feelings of depression and worry.” Said Reacher Colder Carras. If teens do not feel

feelings of depression and worry, the teen will feel better about themselves and boost their self

confidence.

Although social media can be a fun way to express yourself, it can also be a way for

people to get bullied. In a article called,”Social Media Effects on Mental Health” Its say, “Social
media can drive envy and enable cyberbullying.” Social media can drive envy and enable cyber

bullying, however if you don't people follow you, you cannot be harmed by them. If you are

smart on Social Media, it is hard to get bullied.

Teens should have Social media to express themselves and collaborate with friends and

family through social media. It is important for teens because they can learn about the world and

explore new things.
