Candidates taking admission through CLAT 2018 shall pay a total amount of 2,03,500/- (Rupees Two Lakh
Three Thousand and Five Hundred Only).

* For two continuing semesters excluding summer or winter placement and vacation.
** Extra charges shall be levied for use of other electric kits as per university norms.

The students shall vacate the hostel rooms during summer and winter vacations, and whenever the
University so requires.

Note:
1. The dress code is compulsory for all the official functions and the Moot Courts (including
Intra Moot Court Competitions) of the University. Hence the students should get the dress
ready which includes Black Trousers, White Shirt, Black Coat, Black Tie and Black Shoes,
etc., within one month after admission. On regular class days the students shall attend the
classes with formal wear in conformity with the Bar Council of India Rules.

2. The students should bring the following for hostel accommodation:

• Mattress (6'x3')
• Bed Sheets, pillow, and pillow covers
• Bucket and Mug
• Lock with triplicate key out of which two keys shall be handed over to the Warden.
• Mosquito Net
• Mirror
• Umbrella or rain coat
• Adequate winter clothes
• Other necessary items of daily use.

The classes for the First Semester (2018-19 Batch) have commenced on 16th July, 2018.

After the counselling and finalization of the admission to the University you will be admitted to the Hostel
room depending on the availability. The hostel accommodation is optional. Local and other students may opt
to be day scholars with the permission of the University. In case the admission is not confirmed for any reason
or withdrawn, the fees remitted by you will be refunded as per rules relating to refund of fees mentioned in
the Annexure-‘I’.

You are required to undergo a general medical check-up from a recognized and reputed diagnostic laboratory
/ clinic / government hospital and produce the medical report (specially mentioning the blood group and
whether you are allergic to certain medicines) for the reference of the University’s Medical Officer. The
Medical facility on the campus is limited for minor ailments. If you are suffering from any ailment / disease
which warrant medical consultation on regular / frequent basis, emergency medical facilities would not be

available. In such cases you need to consult your parents before finally deciding to join Chanakya National
Law University, Patna.
Four Wheelers (cars, etc.) shall not be parked either in the campus or in the parking area of the University.
The students shall park their two wheelers in the parking area of the University on their own risk. Failure to
observe these Rules entails heavy penalty.
Monthly Mess charges will be decided by the Student’s Mess Committee.
The University upholds integrity, character, discipline and academic excellence to which every student must
contribute. Students shall observe and adhere to the rules and regulations of the University. RAGGING AND
SEXUAL HARASSMENT IN ANY FORM IS BANNED AND IS A PUNISHABLE OFFENCE and will
entail immediate expulsion from the University. Parents and candidates are requested to come with duly
filled in and signed before the Notary Public, the affidavit forms, issued by the UGC regarding ragging
etc. at the time of their counselling (See Annexure II & III) or the signed copies of the online affidavit.

The University has already constituted an Anti-ragging Squad and Anti-ragging Committee. The Faculty
would be doing their best to mould the career of every student in a manner that the University can justifiably
be proud of. In this effort constant and continuing support of the parents is solicited. Parents should
accompany their wards, so as to interact with the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Faculty and the Wardens and
get to know the facilities available as no demands for facilities other than those available will be entertained
by the University.
The University endeavours to inculcate, cultivate and develop in every student human dignity, fundamental
moral values and maintain high standards of discipline. The University is a non-smoking zone and
consumption and possession of intoxicating liquors and psychotropic substances is punishable offence and
is strictly prohibited (Ref.: The Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016). Use of cell phones in the
Classrooms, the Library and Administrative Block is prohibited. Use of cell-cameras on the campus or in the
Hostel Rooms is prohibited. If anybody is found misusing the cell phone, the cell phone will be confiscated
and the person so misuses shall be punished. Violation of any of these rules would be viewed as an act of
indiscipline and may entail severe action which may lead to expulsion from the University. Before you decide
to join the University you need to consider all these aspects.
If you do not report and complete admission formalities on the given date and time, this provisional admission
will automatically stand cancelled. Full payment of 2, 03,500/- shall be made at the time of admission and
no requests for extension of time for submission of fees shall be entertained and failure to comply will result
in forfeiture of the claim for the seat. Please note that your presence on that day will not guarantee admission.

ANNEXURE-‘I’

Rules relating to refund of fees as applicable


a. If admission is withdrawn and his/her seat is filled in by Waitlisted candidate, deduction will
be of Rupees Sixteen thousand (₹ 16,000/-), i.e., Admission Processing
Fee of ₹5,000/- + Admission of ₹1,000/- + Cancellation Fee of ₹10,000/-
b. In respect of the candidates who leave the University and the consequential vacancy does not
get filled in, the following amounts will be retained by the University and the rest will be
refunded:

For CLAT candidates:

Tuition Fee 1,04,500/-

Admission Fee 1,000/-

Admission Processing Fee 5,000/-

Facilities Fee and Room Rent will be retained pro rata on monthly basis. Mess dues shall be paid by
the candidate otherwise they will be deducted from refundable deposits.

not been debarred from taking admission in any educational institution in India. If admitted I will abide by the
Disciplinary and Conduct rules and regulations of Chanakya National Law University, framed and amended
from time to time. I undertake not to indulge in ragging or sexual harassment or any other undesirable activities
(UGC circular No. F.I-16/2009(CPPII) dated 12th October 2009), against University norms or prejudicial to
the interests of the University, which will attract disciplinary action including expulsion or rustication. I do
undertake not to use any banned alcoholic substances as per the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016 or any
other prohibited narcotic substances.
I undertake to attend minimum 75% attendance in each subject.
I shall not claim for placement by the University. I agree to vacate the hostel room during summer, winter vacation
or whenever university orders in this regard.
