Aurelio Language Dictionary PT>PT_br - Portuguese, language dictionary,

general dictionary: Novo Aurelio is now online at the UOL website. I don't
know if it's restricted to subscribers or not. At any rate, and IMHO, this is a
very welcome addition to the UOL biblioteca. Also in this translator's opinion,
the Aurelio is much better and a lot more comprehensive than the Michaelis
dictionary also available at UOL, but is in serious risk of losing its supremacy
as the most widely used general dictionary in Brazil now that it faces Houaiss
as an oponent. Houaiss has been recently released as is now available in
stores as a paper edition, but the CD-Rom is coming soon. I bought my
Houaiss copy and I must say that it is an amazing piece of lexicography. It's
really fabulous. I imagine that the Aurelio's going online move was probably
motivated by the arrival of Houaiss, a very powerful competitor.
