Open - Open any previously saved log file. Be careful to pick the correct system type from the popup
window.
Save - Saves the extracted information to disk as a hex log file and a text file.
Print - Prints the currently displayed interpreted logs.
Change default directory - Change the directory where all log files are saved to.
Change to UPGRADE mode - Changes the Log Extractor interface to support UPGRADE mode, in which
firmware can be upgraded on control equipment.
Rescan ports - Scans your PC for available COM ports. If you only connected your device to your PC
after launching the Log Extractor application, you will need to click this so that Log Extractor will detect
your device
Extract logs - Starts the log extraction.
Extract only IO Channels - Allows you to only download logs for particular IO Channels on a SmartShot
Bench Box.
Delete logs - This is only available for SmartShot. Deletes logs currently on the box. This is
PERMANENT!
Query builder - All extracted / opened logs are inserted into a database, provided a serial number was
entered to the Log Extractor. The query builder allows you to call up logs for specific units or filtered based
on date. The default date and time that appears in the “Date range” box is the first and last log date for the
unit in question.
Search log text - You can search for either a keyword from the drop down menu, or you can type in your
own search term(s). You can also search by date, which you can combine with a keyword search, or do
on its own.
Find - Allows you to search through the interpreted logs. The search is case insensitive.
Tabs - The first tab will normally contain the blast summary, and the next tab the full engineering log. In
SmartShot, IO logs and oversight logs are printed to separate tabs for ease of use.
