1. Course Description
This course is one of the undergraduate core subject in the electrical engineering area. This course will
deliver thorough grounding in electric power systems. It will discuss per-unit normalizations, symmetrical
components and iterative load flow calculations. This course will also cover important topics within the
power system, such as protection and DC transmission.
2. Course Objectives
After the course is over, students are expected to be able to:
Explain the operation of electric power system,
Analyze the electric power system modeling,
Analyze the power flow,
Analyze the load flow,
Analyze the electrical line fault,
Determine the optimization of a power plant scheduling,
Use ETAP to design and analyze the power system models,
3. Learning Type(s)
The course will be conducted two times in a week. There will be lecture, discussion, task and quizzes.
4. Assessment
The final value depends on the performance that can be shown by the students, which is visible through some
assessment component as listed in Table 1 below.
