Tunku Abdul Rahman was the first Prime Minister of Malaysia. Tunku was born
on the 8th of February 1903 in Alor Setar. Alor Setar is the capital of Kedah. He was
the seventh prince of Sultan Abdul Hamid Shah.
Tunku was said to be a very dynamic person. He was also an energetic person. He
was a very keen sportsman.
Tunku received his early education at the Debsirin School in Bangkok and the
Penang Free School.
He fought for independence from the British in the year 1957. He is remembered
as the Father of Independence.

durian. My favourite local fruit is durian. Durian is a seasonal fruit. We only
have durians for a certain time in a year.
Durian has a strong pungent smell. It is big and round. It is green in colour.
Its skin is thorny. Its flesh is soft, creamy and yellow. It is sweet and a little
bitter. Its seeds are big and brown.
When it is in season, my mother always buys durians for me at the fruit stall
nearby our house.
When mangoesteen is called as the queen of fruits, durian is called as the king
of fruits.

The biggest animal on land is the African elephant. The male is called as a
bull elephant and the female is called as a cow elephant.
An elephant has a thick and wrinkled skin.
An elephant has a trunk. A trunk is a very long nose. An elephant uses its
trunk for drinking and feeding. The trunk is used for pulling down a tree or for
picking up a fruit.
An elephant also has a pair of tusk. The tusks are two extra large teeth. The
tusks are made of ivory. An elephant uses the tusk for digging. The tusks are
especially used for digging water.
Elephants line in jungles and forests. They eat grass, leaves and fruits.
Even though elephants are big and strong, they are endangered animals.
They are hunted for their valuable tusks. If we do not protect them, one day
we might only see elephants in zoos or pictures.

play badminton. Malaysians also like to play badminton. I love to play
badminton too. Badminton is my favorite game.
To play badminton, we need a racket and a shuttlecock. The shuttlecock
is also called as a birdie. People play badminton in a court. They also have a
net in the middle of to court that divides the court into two parts.
During a competition or a tournament, badminton is played in an indoor
court. This is to avoid the shuttlecock from flying or shuttling in too much wind.
Badminton can be played by two or four players. The winning point is 21.
Badminton is normally a two sets game. However, if both sets have different
winners, they will play another set called as ‘rubber set’. The rubber set
determines the winner of the game.
All in all, badminton is a good and interesting game to play. Let us have
badminton as our hobby.

I write this letter to tell you how to stay healthy and keep fit. I got the
information from a magazine.
Firstly, you eat healthy food. The examples of healthy food are fruits,
vegetables, rice and bread. Remember, fast food like burgers and instant
noodles are also not healthy. Please do not eat fast food because it contains too
much fat.
Secondly, you should avoid junk food because junk food contains too much
salt and sugar. The examples of junk food are sweets and crackers like super
ring, twiesties and potato chips.
Thirdly, you should eat balanced diet. The food that we eat must contain
carbohydrate, proteins, vitamins, mineral and fat. If you want more
information about a balanced diet, you can refer to a food pyramid.
Next, you should exercise regularly. You should exercise three times a week.
You should take at least twenty minutes every time you exercise.
Other than that, you should have enough sleep. You should sleep at least
seven hours every night.
Finally, you should drink enough water. You should drink at least eight
glasses of plain water every day.
