Maximus Installation

Preparation

You will need the following:

- A USB Flash Drive (2.0 or higher, and at least 16GB)


- File “Win10 Installer” (which can be found HERE, along with firmware)
- A PC that is Windows 7 or higher
- A .RAR file-extracting program (WinRAR, 7-zip, etc.)

1.) Download and extract the file: “WIN10 INSTALLER”


2.) Insert your USB Flash Drive into your PC and format it as NTFS and name the drive WINPE. You
can do this going into MY COMPUTER (or “THIS PC” on Windows 8/10), right-click on your USB
drive and select FORMAT. In the format menu, change the file system to NTFS (Both highlighted
in RED), and under volume label, type “WINPE” (Highlighted in GREEN)

3.) Once the WIN10 INSTALLER file has been downloaded and extracted, it should give you the files
listed below:
4.) Run and install the file named UISO9_PE

5.) Once installed, open the program. It should give you the screen below (If you’re using the trial
version, make sure to click the button “Continue to Try”):

6.) In the above image, click on the icon highlighted in RED. You will then be taken to a menu similar
to the image below. Look for your Win10 Installer folder and select “WINPE_X86_AUTO.”
7.) You will then be taken back to the main menu. Select BOOTABLE followed by WRITE DISC
IMAGE. Both are highlighted in RED.

8.) In the image below, make sure the following options are selected (Highlighted in RED). Once
correct, select WRITE (Highlighted in GREEN). The program will create a bootable partition for
your USB.
9.) Check the bottom of your Laptop for the serial number and read the first 4 digits. Download the
matching firmware file. You can find the firmware HERE.

10.) Once you have downloaded the correct firmware, extract the .RAR file, it should give you the
files listed below.

11.) Select all 3 folders, and copy them onto the USB. This will take several moments.
12.) If USB was renamed after using UltraISO, you can rename it by going into MY COMPUTER (or
“THIS PC” on Windows 8/10), right-click on your USB drive and select PROPERTIES and rename
the drive “WINPE”.

13.) USB is now ready for use.


Installation

1.) Make sure your Maximus is powered off. Connect the flash drive to the Maximus. Next to the
power button is a switch, make sure that switch is set to (Unlock) Position

2.) Power on the laptop while rapidly pressing ESC on the keyboard.

3.) A Boot menu will pop up. Press the Right Arrow Key to highlight BOOT MANAGER and press
Enter.
4.) When the boot menu pops up, press the down arrow key to select your USB Flash drive and
press Enter.

5.) Installation will begin. The procedure might take more than 20 minutes.

6.) Laptop will reboot automatically.


7.) “System Preparation Tool” will pop up, Click “ok”

8.) Maximus is ready for use.
