DEMANDS
To meet the demands of today’s more efficient,
cleaner-running diesel engines, Shell Lubricants
has released two new Rotella heavy-duty engine
oils. The new Shell Rotella T4 Triple Protection
15W-40 and Rotella T5 10W-30 Synthetic Blend
were developed to meet the API CK-4 oil standard
for new engines. The T4 delivers an average of 50
percent more wear protection than is required by
the API, controlling engine deposits while helping
to reduce vehicle emissions. The low-viscosity
synthetic blend of the T5 oil provides 44 percent
beer wear protection than API’s maximum wear
requirements. It also improves fuel economy,
lowers flow temperatures, and controls deposits
in engines.

footprint of a heavy-duty truck but want the power and towing prowess of a

We can’t wait to see how far the aermarket will be able to push this Cummins 5.0L V-8 engine. In stock trim, it’s more than strong enough to haul the ’17 Crew Cab Titan around with a
heavy trailer, so the single cab should be one capable workhorse.

GET CASH. IT’S SIMPLE. It’s direct. And it’s the name of the game
for most work truck operators. For Clayton Ary of Bakersfield, California,
getting cash also included spending some cash in order to build a slick, eye-
catching—yet tremendously functional—work rig like his ’08 Dodge Ram 3500 dualie.
Clayton works for Brinderson Construction as a contract welder on a pipeline and, as
you can see, his work rig is nothing short of badass. If we were to ask him, he’d say it
was worth every penny spent and every moment of frustration in order to construct
the daily workhorse of his dreams.
There’s no glitz and glamour under this hood, but the 6.7L Cummins gets the job done.
Future plans include EFILive and a 550 to 650hp California smog-legal build with all
emissions equipment intact and functional.

to run the correct fan, the whole drivetrain needs to be shied

big difference. But it really is when there’s so lile room to work
with. I’ll get DIY customers who think they’ll just pull the Ford
motor out and go to stab that 5.9L engine in without mov-

in the radiator. Get the motor, gearbox, and transfer
case out of the way; set the Cummins into place;
and then work front to back. If you do it in that order,
this is not a hard job mechanically.
