1. Introduction
This document provides a Method of Procedure (MOP) and a timeline for the convertion of 5620 SAM to
redundancy

The 5620 SAM will be upgraded according to the table below.

No Product Current Load Target Load
1 5620 SAM
2 RHEL Release 6.3 (Santiago) Release 6.3 (Santiago)

The 5620 SAM configuration in the Telkom network currently consists of the following 6 x SAM
Network stations:
• 1 x Primary 5620 SAM Server (RHEL 6.3)
• 1 x Standby 5620 SAM Server (RHEL 6.3)
• 1 x Primary 5620 SAM Database (RHEL 6.3)
• 1 x Standby 5620 SAM Database (RHEL 6.3)
• 1 x Primary 5620 SAM Auxilary (RHEL 6.3)
• 1 x Standby 5620 SAM Auxilary (RHEL 6.3)

1.1 Assumptions
The following assumptions were made when preparing this document:
 The reader/user of this document is knowledgeable in RHEL platforms.
 The reader/user of this document is knowledgeable in 5620 SAM operations.
 The reader/user of this document is knowledgeable in with the 5620 SAM installation procedure and
the 5620 SAM IUG (Installation and Upgrade Guide) document.
 The reader/user of this document requires a thorough understanding of the general and operating
system-specific requirements of this task. It is essential that the procedure be planned, documented
(MOP), and tested (staged) in advance on a lab system that is representative of the target live
network.
 The “root” environment on the networkstations is configured properly to execute all utilities.
 All IP addressing and the LAN have been tested and are working properly.
