Lesson Guide in Earth and Life Science

I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standards The amount of usable water resources on Earth

B. Performance Prepare a plan that the community may implement to minimize waste
Standards when people utilize materials and resources

At the end of the session, students are expected to:

1. Explain how different activities affect the quality and availability of

water for human use (S11/12ES-Ig-16)
C. Learning

Analysis of Theories, Concepts and Principles

Conduct a simple experiment by simulating activity disturbing the quality

of water resources “ Before and After”.

Materials:
1. clean water
2. basin
3. food color/dye (atleast three different colors preferably blue,
green and red)

Procedure:
(DEEPENING)
1. Put clean tap water on the basin
2. Add food color (group I) plastic materials (group II) and clay
(group III)
3. Observe what happen.

Guide Questions:

1. Describe what happen after the addition of food

colors/plastics/clay.
2. How will it affect the quality and availability of water?
3. What does the different materials represent?

F. Developing mastery

2
(POST-ACTIVITY) Group Activity:

With their respective groups, list down various activities and enumerate
the possible effects on the quality and availability of water.
