Oriental Mindoro Debate Society

OMDS

The sign of times would probably say, Hey, welcome to the world of complex
reality!
As we are being thrown into this world, we continue to explore what this
world can give to us. We are too much engross to the activity of finding out the
meaning of everything that surrounds us and so from the simple reality that we
have we grave and grave for more.
At first, it seems that we’ve succeeded. We have unfolded different truths
from their hidden places. We gave birth to numbers of idealism and made
language powerful as well. Yet, deconstructing everything that we’ve built will
lead us to the truth above all the truths. We are now far from the world’s finest
meaning.
With this, Oriental Mindoro Debate Society, an umbrella organization of
different tertiary and secondary debate institutions in the province, sees the
need to continue its advocacy of giving our students the experience of debate
and argumentation. A discipline that will surely sharpen the mind to think,
evaluate and criticize. A perfect tool to address the sign of times.
Is it a boon or a bane?
Please, think before we react and engage.
Hoping to see you here on October 29-31 at Saint Joseph Academy,
Bongabong.
Sincerely,
Arjay M. De Torres.
Tournament Director,
