As per Millennialism, “Change is the only
constant.” Being an almost 50-Year-old
organization, Aries has no different views. It
is reflecting a combination of its industry
experience and outreach by adapting to this
new change to provide a better experience
to each of its stakeholders.
In this issue, you will find a glance of Aries
initiative towards digitization, and how it
will benefit Farmers, Dealers, Employees
and other stakeholders.
We also have an entire section dedicated to
the Aries Family, where all of you can
contribute. We would love to get articles,
short stories, Poems, and Photographs or
any life experience which is close to your
heart and would like to share with us.

After a long hiatus it feels exceptionally good to re-
launch our beloved magazine “Aries Flash”. Over the
past few weeks, the R&D and Publication Team have
put together this first edition for 2018 which focuses on
the Aries space in digitization. Indian rural sector over
the past few years has got rapidly exposed to new
generation communication technologies and digital
solutions to enable farming.
Though we are currently in the early days of these
innovations, our Company is proactively embracing
these emerging trends to equip our internal and external
stakeholders with most cutting edge apps for specific
usage in Agri business. Currently, with a reach to 9
Million farmers across 26 states in India, our Company
is in the ideal position to assure a digital age for
progressive Indian growers. Our products have unique
spread that require knowledge sharing in order to create
demand. Traditional methods of information
dissemination which we have used over four decades no
longer are fast enough to provide latest information to
the remotest parts of India. Hence the usage of smart
phones, mobile apps, voice and video notifications,
direct messaging, mobile coupons, digital farmers
schemes, etc., are all being used by us in pockets of
excellence across our network. This year also saw first
ever digital flash sales and booking bazaars being
conducted across 26 states where our distributors for the
first time placed their annual orders online aggregating
a total of Rs. 398/- Crores.

This made history in our industry and we hope that the
tickle down effect of this initiative will further energize
our teams to use such digital means in other more
enduring processes.
We are also working out a strategic partnership with
Reliance Jio for a range of digital communication
infrastructure solutions including Jio Chat, Jio
Merchant, Jio Money, Jio Kisan, etc., all of which will
be rolled out in phases over the next 12 months.
With the thirst for information in rural India growing
rapidly and accurately by which we deliver
communication in a wide scale, precisely to the target
market, will determine the efficiency of our extension
services in the months and years ahead. Creation of
apps that are already in place has required synergy of
some of our technically skilled top managers, however
all these efforts will only lead to results with widespread
usage of these digital apps by every member of the Aries
family. In the next few years there will be no choice but
to communicate and go digital, if we have to keep pace
with the rest of the world and emerging competition.
Therefore, the next few months of learning and adoption
of these apps in your respective states and regions will
be most credible.

 Trial Report - Canemin
In India, the white sugar industry is of considerable
economic importance. It is the second largest after the
cotton textile industry. Sugarcane farmers and their
families, numbering over 35 million, constitute about 7
percent of the rural population. Both area and production
of sugarcane fluctuate considerably from year to year.
This is due to variations in climatic conditions, the
vulnerability of areas cultivated under rainfed CONTROL
conditions, fluctuations in prices of gur and khandsari,
and changes in returns from competing crops. Despite
this instability, both area and production of sugarcane
have increased considerably over the past three decades.
