Kyudo Samurai: Iaido (Lv70 Skills)

Because ​@Komibii​ beat me to the punch

Iaido (commonly shortened to Iai) is a japanese fighting style which emphasizes the user to
draw their blade quickly in response to a dire situation or a sudden attack.

This is NOT meant to be pure DPS​​. It uses a combination of far range and close range
positioning to take advantage of the enemy. We will be mainly using Zentei and Snipe. This is a
continuation of ​@Komibii​’s guide to Kyodo Samurai (Bow + Katana) which can be found ​here​.
That guide is more versatile than this one since its convertible into other styles, this being one of
them. ​This one will only consider bow + katana and not converting into bow + arrow or two
handed katana.

What this subset of that guide will be, is to be alleviating one of the snipers main problem:
aggro. Snipers 1mp combo tends to generate a lot of aggro, and once said sniper gets the
aggro, they do not have the ability to deal with it. Most snipers would run around far while the
enemy is chasing them to reposition another 1mp snipe, which significantly lowers the DPS they
can do. Not to mention most snipers have poor defenses and hp anyways meaning their
survivability is abysmal without putting some crit/str points into vit. So what stats would we
need?

Stats:

Combos:

After a large amount of testing (grinding to level 150 by fighting everything) these combos have
suited me well, but you can mix and match to your preference.

Qwasi Waltz:​
Meoba/Pulse → Smoke (Save) → Paralyze (Consec) → Meikyo (Consec) → Snipe
(Smite) → Pommel (Consec)

This Combo is mainly to attract the attention of the enemy, since Smoke saving attracts a lot of
aggro, if the enemy is far and it aggros onto you from smoke, moeba would slow it so snipe will
finish once the enemy is almost next to you, then you can Pommel so can stun and set up your
positioning. Pulse is good if you wish to save Moeba for the Zentei Combo. Also if you don’t
take aggro this is still a great combo for being a normal sniper.

Bloody Intervention​:
Moeba/Pulse → Smoke (save) → Meikyo (consec) → Zentei (smite) →
Pulse/Moeba (Swift)

Smoke saving will help you keep aggro onto you, and zentei is our sub-dps skill, but it’s also
useful for the nullify damage it has on successful parry. This can be used from far away so you
can have a buffer zone for free roaming, moeba can help with that, but pulse can do the job well
when you learn enemy attack patterns and can coordinate it well. After zentei, its be best to get
the hell out of dodge, so putting swift on a 1 mp skill will use up the last mp from smoke and
have enough time to run from an aoe. Meoba so you can make a safe getaway, pulse if you
used moeba already and its slow, plus the sidestep can help, reminder that this skill is incredibly
fast so you may not get the timing for the sidestep.

The one thing I will emphasize is heavy armour, it will help with your defensiveness and
survivability and lower your dodge rate, because zentei will not work if you dodge the attack.
The others are fairly dps oriented due to this also dealing a decent amount of damage. You
wont be topping charts on attacker, unless the heavier DPS dies from boss aoe. You will be
topping many tank charts if you can get the zentei timing down.
Kyudo Samurai: Senso (Lv 150 Skills)

Senso is the common japanese term for war. Which in this build of the Kyudo Samurai Class will
follow this quote: “There are only two tactics a true warrior needs. Frontal assault, and death by
frontal assault!”

With our new and shiny Lv150 skills, we can see a lot of new options with combining the two
Long and Close range skills. This one, will focus on nuking the enemy, much like what
happened to Japan in Worl- Nevermind that, but this part is serious, the fact we have so many
options to consider, this combination of weapons can be very sersitile. This one will mainly use
Crossfire + Tenryu. ​This will not consider transformation to Bow + Arrow or Dual Handed
Katana.

The goal of this build this time is to assault the enemy until you are ready to drop the nuke. The
damage from this will be constant until you decide it’s time to let it rip. Crossfire will be the nuke,
and Tenryu will be our constant damage. The damage from this won’t have the highest burst
damage, but will have a lot of decently high numbers adding up to do a lot of damage. This is
alleviating a snipers problem of mainly dealing only burst damage to a boss, and will give a
sniper something better to do while charging crossfire instead of using snipe (which it’s damage
has kinda been less reliable lately, but if you wish to still use it I will put it under optional skills).

Combos:

Everlasting Power
Moeba/Pulse → Crossfire (smite) → Kairiki (consec) → Decoy (save) → Pommel
(smite)

This Combo is to charge up Crossfire, I know it’s 5mp which is A LOT but it is worth it, due to
how after it sets up a decoy and it charges up those 5mp bars really fast. Pommel should never
actually connect because you should be far enough away from the enemy.

Ricochet
Meikyo → Crossfire (smite)

Use after Everlasting Power, and wait 35 seconds for the full charge (around when the buff from
Kairai ends) will only cost 2mp but will do large amounts of damage.

Flashing Blade
Pulse/Moeba → Triple Thrust/Paralyze Shot (save) → Tenryu Rensei (Swift)

This is to start your spammi- I mean, Tenryu Rensei buff. Triple Trust is there if you wish for
another stack for Garyou, but this is what will start Tenryu, leading into Tenryu: Zannou (use
Magadachi if you plan on charging a crossfire while doing this). This WILL put you in range of
attacks, so be careful but if you can avoid hits, this will do a lot of cumulative damage.

Swords Dance
Magadachi/Zentei Settetsu = Tenryu: Zannou
Tenryu Rensei → Tenryu Rensei → Tenryu Rensei → Tenryu Rensei → Tenryu
Rensei

This is not really a combo in the traditional sense but this is what you do after Flashing Blade
and before the Finale. (Does not raise attack by 2 stages.)

Finale: The End of Waging War


Kairiki Renshin → Decoy (save) → Snipe/Zentei (Swift) → Meikyo (Consec)

Light armour is a contrast to my other build, but this is because I wish to have more AMPR, so
Decoy will be A LOT more useful and I can charge my battery a lot easier. Kairiki will deal burn
damage to yourself based on HP, so no matter how much HP you have you will take 65%
damage if you use it, it’ll never kill you but just remember most of the time you won't have HP or
Defense.
