I. Introduction

The Geodetic Engineering is also known as geodetics, the word geodetic is an adjective that

means pertaining to geodesy. It is a branch of applied mathematics and earth science. A professional

that gathers physical data on the surface of the earth with the use of instruments that measures.

Geodetic Engineers is a profession that involves with a survey on land, water and air space. They are

the leaders of surveying projects and survey parties. Geodetic Engineers are also called as the

surveyors. The nature of work of a surveyor is that they determine the property boundaries through a

precise measurement they had gathered. It is a career that plays an important role especially in the

success of civil work projects (Inkson,2002).

II. Statement of study

The study is to define the course of Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering. The course

aims in developing and improving the ability of a student to be able to perform well. To perform well

in the field of surveying and mapping work. The curriculum of the course is in the various branches in

surveying and also in the physical science, social science, laws, professional ethics, pure mathematics

and many more.

The Geodetic Engineering is a large scope of study. It fields of specialization are cadastral land

surveying, construction and mining survey, photogrammetric survey, cartography and cartographic

survey, remote sensing, geodetic surveying, geographic information system, land information

management system, geoinformatics, satellite geodetic survey and hydrography and oceanography.

III. Conclusion and Recommendation

A. Conclusion

Therefore, in conclusion students of the Geodetic Engineering should learn

technical skill, employability skills and aptitudes through network and professional

linkage. Since technical skill must be acquired before working. It holds a vital role of

one’s profession. The six technical skills are creativity and an innovative approach to

solving problems; ability to analyze and interpret complex data; ability to evaluate

designs, plans and projects; effective assessment and management of risk, resources

and time; highly developed numeracy and computer literacy; and clear written and oral

communication skills that were learned from networks and professional linkage.

(Fronda, 2006).

B. Recommendation

A recommendation to improve the study:

1. Recommend the study lacks of information and researchers should add support

to their information.
2. When making the study it is recommended that it should be done in a long

period of time.
3. And it is recommended that the research is to be more specific and not

generalize.
