Greetings Brothers of the Massive and Progressive 12th District!

Brothers, this District Council report is the activities of the brothers from Gamma Alpha Alpha
Chapter, Anchorage, Alaska.

Gamma Alpha Alpha Chapter activities since last report:


Brothers, since my last report in February, Gamma Alpha Alpha Chapter has served Omega and
the community in the following capacities:
1. In April, Gamma Alpha Alpha chapter selected 4 scholarships winner for the 2010-2011
academic school year and voted to award scholarships in the amounts of $500.00 each.
2. During the month of May, the brothers volunteered for the local Walk N Roll for Hope
fundraiser, a program that raises funds for disadvantage children. The brothers worked as road
crossing guards assisting participants as they crossed streets and intersections along their
routes. The chapter had four in attendance at the 65th Twelfth District Meeting in Torrance
CA. Congratulations to our new 12th District leadership for 2010-2011.
3. In June, the brothers volunteered to support the annual American Diabetes Tour ‘de Cure bike
ride by manning a checkpoint station and serving water, fruits, and snacks to participants.
4. Brothers Lewis J. Sears, Jr., and Lymus D. Capehart, Jr. were chapter delegates at the 2010
Grand Conclave.
5. The chapter held a raffle to raise funds for the chapter scholarship program. The fundraiser
was a success and the 3 winners won $1,000.00, $750.00, and $500.00. Total amount raised
had not been finalized prior to this report.

Gamma Alpha Alpha Chapter Upcoming Activities:


1. The chapter is gearing up for the 10th year of the Omega Preparatory Program (OPP), the
chapters’ mentorship program for high school males throughout the Anchorage School
District. The program is active from October – April of each school year and the brothers are
once again expecting between 15 – 20 participants.
2. Gamma Alpha Alpha is planning their annual retreat 24 – 26 Sep in Fairbanks and fellowship
with the brothers in that area.
3. The achievement week committee is preparing for the Founders Banquet and chapter awards.
Also in November, the chapter will give free turkeys and stuffing to 4 families during the
week of Thanksgiving.
4. The brothers will continue with their annual “Que winter coat collection”, collecting winter
coats know longer used by people in the community and given those coats to local homeless
shelters for those who will use them.
5. Since my last report, two brothers have relocated. Brother Kaleth Wright to Japan and Bro
Chris Brown to Tampa, Florida. The brothers of Gamma Alpha Alpha wish them good luck in
their future endeavors and hope that they continue to serve Omega.
