How to register your motorbike at LTO

I tried searching MCP for threads regarding the step-by-step motor vehicle registration process...
but to no avail. So I take it upon myself to document what I know and have experienced with
regards to this. Note to mods: Please delete if such thread already exists. TIA

Process is the same for two- and four-wheeled vehicles. Fees vary.

Before heading to LTO, go directly to the smoke emission testing center. Do this at the earliest
time possible. When I got to the center near Makati LTO at 8.30am, there were already seven (7)
vehicles ahead of me.

They will be needing a copy of your OR and CR for this. Go to the cashier, hand in your docs,
and pay 400php. Wait for your name to be called for the emission test proper. After the test, wait
for your name to be called again for the release of the result. Get your result paper and then head
to a TPL insurance provider.

There are about four or five insurance providers in front of Makati LTO. Give them your smoke
test result and pay 580php.

They will give you your copy of the insurance and stapled documents (copy of OR/CR, smoke
test result, and copy of TPL).

Head to the vehicle inspection window and provide the stapled documents. Wait for your name
to be called.

The vehicle inspector will stencil your unit's chassis and engine numbers. After the stenciling, he
will be checking the papers and do some signing here and there on the document... as if he's
waiting for you to give him a tip (out of courtesy, it is best to give tips...20php is ok).

Head back to the vehicle inspection window where you will be given an evaluation window
number. I was given W4 which means Window 4. So I stepped inside the office and hand in my
documents to Window 4 evaluator. It took my docs an hour to be evaluated because my bike was
initially registered at Paranaque LTO. Transfer of venue takes time and costs 100php.

Again, wait for your name to be called. After evaluation, the evaluator will give you a cashier
number. Head to the cashier area and WAIT for your name to be called.

I waited another 30-45 minutes for this.

Upon hearing your name, go to the cashier and pay the fee indicated on your cashier
number. The cashier will then give you your documents and tell you to proceed to Window 1
to get your sticker.

Go to Window 1, sign the back of your CR (Yellow sheet) with your name and address, and
hand in the documents.
WAIT for your name to be called. Once you hear your name, go to the window and get your OR
and sticker. And that would be the last step in your day at the LTO. Now go give yourself a pat
on the back for not dealing with fixers.

One thing I notice is that there aren't any fixers at Makati LTO... not anymore.
