DISCUSSION

Types of skin in the face:

There are five main skin types in faces: normal, dry, oily, combination and
sensitive. Understanding the different types of skin will give individual a better idea of
how to treat face problems and reveal smooth, clear skin.

1. Normal skin type in face – is not too dry and not too
oily, normal skin has the following characteristics;
 No or few imperfections
 No severe sensitivity
 Barely visible pores and
 A radiant complexion skin

2. Combination Skin Type – this type of skin in the face can be dry or normal in some
areas and oily in others, such as the T-zone (nose, forehead, and chin). Many
people have this type. It may need
slightly different care in different areas.

Combination skin in face can have:

 Pores that look larger than normal,

because they’re more open
 Blackheads and
 Shiny skin
3. Oily skin type in face – oily type skin in face may
have:
 Enlarged pores
 Dull or shiny, thick complexion
 Blackheads, pimples, or other blemishes

Oiliness of face can change depending upon the time of

year or the weather. Things that can cause or worsen it
include:

 Puberty or other hormonal imbalances

 Stress
 Heat or too much humidity

4. Dry skin type in face – for those with dry skin generally have almost invisible pores,
and may suffer from premature wrinkles and regular
irritation to the skin it is also dull, rough complexion, has
red patches and your skin is less elastic and more visible
lines. People that have dry skin in face can crack, peel, or
become itchy, irritated, or inflamed.

The cause of dry skin can be attributed to a variety of

factors. For some, dry skin is hereditary, as genetic
predispositions can affect the amount of sebum produced
in the skin’s oil glands. Sebum is responsible for keeping
our skin soft and supple.

Many assume that dry skin is due to a lack of moisture, but the water content of dry skin
is generally found in similar levels to that of oily skin. Adding water to dry skin is actually
counterproductive to treating this skin condition.

Finding a moisturizer that helps your skin replenish its vibrancy is essential. It’s
important to keep up with a regular regimen of skin care with gentle products that is
made up of naturally derived ingredients. Those with dry skin often suffer from slight
allergic reactions and tend to benefit from creams instead of lotions when it comes to
moisturizers, as they contain more oil, making it thicker and more moisturizing. The
more oil found in a moisturizer, the better it can absorb throughout the epidermis’
barriers to help hydrate the tissue. Before adding a daily moisturizer to your skin
regimen, make sure to test it on a small portion of your skin to ensure you don’t have an
allergic reaction.

5. Sensitive skin types - may exhibit the characteristics of dry skin, oily skin, or
combination skin, but they also deal with a great amount of
redness and irritation.
Normal skin types may also have sensitive skin, but these
generally don’t overlap. Those with sensitive skin types should
avoid harsh chemical-based skin care treatments, and can be
caused by other skin conditions like rosacea or allergies.
Sensitive skin is easily inflamed, so it’s important to choose the
right natural skin care for sensitive skin to avoid any adverse
reactions.

Facial skin problem:

Facial skin problems are extremely common issues especially in women; Even if
they’re painless or benign, they can be particularly stressful as they are easily
visible and can seriously affect confidence and quality of life. That apart, many
forms of sun damage and skin cancers also occur on the face and must be treated
quickly and thoroughly.

The following are the most common skin problems on the face:
1. Acne (Pimple) - Acne is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition that causes spots
and pimples, especially on the face, shoulders,
back, neck, chest, and upper arms. Pimple is an
inflamed area of the skin with pus formation that
results from an oil gland being infected with
bacteria. Pimples are due to overactivity of the oil
glands located at the base of the hair follicles,
especially on the face, back, chest, and shoulders.

Even though spots are very common in

teenagers, we must not be tempted to ignore them thinking they’re a normal part of
growing up. Even mild acne can have a significant negative impact on confidence; in
fact it sometimes linked to depression. While extremely common in teenagers, acne
also can be seen in a large increase in cases of adult. Adult acne can persist into your
30s or 40s. As acne can leave scars, it is very important to get treatment early and not
try to fix it yourself with inappropriate over-the-counter remedies.

2. Blackheads are a mild type of acne that usually forms on the face, but they can
also appear on the following body parts. It looks like black dots that have formed on
your skin. Blackheads are called open
comedones. Comedones are the skin-colored
bumps that form when you have a pimple. In
the case of blackheads, these comedones
consist of follicles beneath your skin with very
large openings, or pores.

When individual have blackheads, these large

pores become clogged with a substance
known as sebum. A chemical reaction with the sebum occurs under your skin. Melanin
is oxidized and turns the clogged pores a black color. This form of acne is often found
on your back, shoulders, and face
3. Whiteheads are known as closed comedones. The follicles beneath your skin
become filled with bacteria and have a very small opening at the top of your skin. Air
isn’t able to enter the follicle. The bacteria inside of it
doesn’t undergo a chemical reaction, so it stays white
in color. This type of acne is also found on your back,
shoulders, and face

Remedies:

Remedy is a medicine, application, or treatment that relieves or cures a disease.

There are many home remedies that can be applied to treat the pimples, whiteheads and
blackheads on individuals’ face but it is need to be analyzed if it is safe to your skin and
could not lead to unusual reactions to your skin.

In the learning app “Daily beauty care” there has varieties of remedies that are suitable

Discussion

Skin condition is supposed to reliably signal aspects of female mate value. According
to Morris, flawless skin is the most universally desired human feature. Empirical evidence
shows that women’s facial skin texture affects males’ judgements of their facial
attractiveness, and homogeneous (smooth) skin is most attractive The condition of the
skin surface may thus provide an indication of the quality of the immune system of the
respective individual.

What happen if you didn’t take care of it? It Caused:

1. Acne Prone Skin

This is one of the most commonly found skin problems that affect a lot of population
throughout the world. There can be different types of acne (Acne vulgaris,
Acne rosacea, Acne keloidalis nuchae, Acne conglobata, to name a few), the
Homeopathic approach is the same, identifying and eliminating the underlying trigger
for acne, thereby, benefiting the affected individual wholly. malfunction of the glands
this follicle gets clogged, then acnes appear on the skin. They may cause scars if not
treated early with the prescription of a doctor.

2. Oily Patches skin

This Is problematic. It usually looks greasy, thick, coarse, and shiny. Frequent on
other areas such as your back and chest. Visible shine, especially mid-day. A good thing,
though, is that oily skin is not prone much to aging and wrinkling. Prone to excessive oil
secretion and is generally shiny. it may be due to hormonal changes that cause excess
oil to be produced on the skin surface. In order to not inflame the skin further,
individuals, it shouldn't overly scrub their skin as well as not use harsh cleansers to
clean the face.

3. Xerosis
A very common skin condition characterized by a lack of the appropriate amount
of water in the epidermis or called dry skin. Symptoms include discomfort from skin
tightness and itching. To prevent dry skin, avoid harsh soaps and chemical cleansers that
disrupts skin moisture levels. If untreated, dry skin may result in complications, including
rashes, eczema, secondary bacterial infections, cellulitis, and skin discoloration.

4. Combination

Stressful situations, overworking, lack of sleep, health problems — all of this can
make our facial skin look and feel tired. Combination of oily and dry skin the T-zone:
Forehead, nose, and chin are oily Cheeks tend to be dry. May have dry, flaky skin Eczema
prone. Sometimes itch. oily patches, usually on the central forehead, nose, and chin
(theso-called Tlone) and dry patches, usually occurring on the cheeks, jawline, and outer
portion of the forehead.

5. Sensitive skin

Possesses little natural oil and small pores. It becomes dehydrated, dulls easily,
and is prone to lines and wrinkles. Sensitive skin is caused by nerve endings in the top
layer of skin becoming irritated. This occurs because your skin’s natural barrier function
is weakened and has broken down due to a trigger. Common causes of sensitive skin
can include; Exposure to air pollution , Frequent changes in temperature , Cold, harsh
weather , Hard water (water with higher mineral content) , Very hot water , Lack of sleep
and hormonal change.

6. Excessive Sweating
Excessive sweating is another major cause of concern for teenagers. The
problem can be due to two different conditions - stress or hyperhidrosis (a condition
wherein you sweat excessively on a daily basis). Wearing clothes made from cotton,
using antiperspirants as well as avoiding drinks and foods that may cause episodes of
excessive sweating are some of the ways in which you can keep the problem in control.

7. Sunlight exposure

Causes skin problems like sunburn, skin cancer, wrinkles, photosensitivity.

Although most people love the warmth and light of the sun, too much sun exposure can
significantly damage human skin. The sun's heat dries out areas of unprotected skin and
depletes the skin's supply of natural lubricating oils. In addition, the sun's ultraviolet (UV)
radiation can cause burning and long-term changes in the skin's structure.

8. Open large Pores

Are the tiny openings in the surface of the skin through which moisturizing oils are
released. When pores on the face are large enough to be visible, they can cause
frustration as well as facial skin problems. To some degree, pore size is hereditary,
but pores also appear larger when they contain trapped oil and skin cells. Pores are large
and open. The skin is coarse and subject to blackheads.

9. Comedones

Blackheads called open comedones. Comedones are the skin-colored bumps that
form when you have a pimple. In the case of blackheads, these consist of follicles beneath
your skin with very large openings, or pores. And whiteheads known as closed
comedones. The bacteria inside of it doesn’t undergo a chemical reaction, so it stays
white in color. This type of acne is also found on your back, shoulders, and face.
