Backgrounds : Over the past few decades, South Korea has made remarkable
achievements in education despite many obstacles. Education, in turn, has played an
important role in Korea’s achieving both economic development and political democracy.
For approximately 3 months I will be at Incheon Daegun High School. When I first learned
the information about this school, I was a little surprised because this was a school for boys.
Where this kind of school forms are almost never found in Indonesia. So, the question
arises whether this is an educational strategy in South Korea to achieve maximum results
in education or if there are other things behind it.
It is my reason find out more about the education system in South Korea that is
distinguished by sex. In connection with the above, then in the period of 3 months I want
to understand more about the gender-based education system.
Methods :
- Observation :
Observing school conditions and environment and observing student activities
while at Incheon Daegun High School in 3 months (Include Photo & Video Taking)
- Questionnaire:
Making questionnaire forms related to the purpose of the observation distributed to
approximately 200 students to collect data and become observational material.
- Interviewing:
Interviewing related schools who understand the education / curriculum / school
activities system such as vice principals, school staff, homeroom teachers or subject
teachers.
- Literatures:
Get written information both from media books, newspapers and articles from the
internet.
Result: The paper is completed with photographs and questionnaire / interview data
