TaskForce is a creative agency that collaborates with the most


influential non-profits, brands and people taking on the most
pressing challenges facing our state, our nation and our world. We
build capacity and community for those shaping a more
empathetic society through public opinion and policy.

We understand the role that creative culture plays in shaping


public opinion and policy and invest heavily in creating lasting
relationships with the communities and partners we engage in.

We work primarily at the intersection of Arts/Culture and Social
Impact, and our work has resulted in some of the most highly
acclaimed and influential earned media campaigns on behalf of
clients that include The United Nations Foundation, The White
House, The California Endowment, The Nature Conservancy, The
MacArthur Foundation, AERAS, The Los Angeles County Department
of Mental Health Services, Rock The Vote, Native Americans in
Philanthropy, The County of Los Angeles and Amnesty

Yosi Sergant has worked in communications, public relations,


brand management, marketing, community organizing and
business development -- integrating art, music and culture
into his work whenever possible.

During the 2008 Presidential campaign, Sergant engaged


artists in a vast viral movement, supporting candidate Barack
Obama, the most prominent of which is the now ubiquitous
"HOPE" campaign he created with artist Shepard Fairey.
Following the election, Sergant served in the White House
Office of Public Engagement before accepting an appointment
as the Director of Communications for the National
Endowment for the Arts.

In 2010, Sergant launched TaskForce, a pro-social marketing


and consulting service outfit. TaskForce engages leaders of the

LOS ANGELES
38,000 attendees
WE RISE, was a two week pop-up art exhibition and community
organizing festival produced on behalf of the Los Angeles Country
Department of Mental Health Services, in partnership with Los
Angeles Unified School District, Los Angeles County Office of
Education and other partners to bring expand awareness and to
invigorate energy for Mental Health Awareness Week.

WE RISE featured the works of 2000+ nationally recognized youth


activists, visual artists, policy makers, musicians, poets and
more. With over 100 hours of programming including
performances and discussions with Common, The Black Eyed
Peas, Ty Dolla $ign, YG, Kobi Bryant, Nick Cannon, Skylar Grey,
Danny Trejo, Las Cafeteras, Mary Lambert, Dr. Drew and many
many more. WE RISE, was a tremendous success and will expand
to multiple cities and continue its successful ‘Out of Home’
campaign into 2019.

INTO ACTION, was a large scale pop-up art exhibition, cultural
gathering and community organizing action hub in Los Angeles featured
hundreds of inspiring works of art and 85+ hours of live performances,
symposiums/panels, and workshops with guests such as John Legend,
Bryan Stevenson, The Black Eye Peas, Carmen Perez, Rosario Dawson,
Van Jones, Piper Perabo, Harry Belafonte and beyond.

INTO ACTION earned top tier national press, millions of social media
shares, collected 30,000+ emails/phone numbers and employed
hundreds of creative professionals including dozens of second chance
employees.

INTO ACTION featured an open call with a selection jury that included
Shepard Fairey, Ann Philbin (Hammer Museum), Rita Gonzalez (LACMA),
Susan Herman (ACLU), Naima E. Keith (CAAM), Cecile Richards (Planned
Parenthood) and many more.

Truth to Power

Truth To Power, Presented by Rock the Vote in partnership with
#Cut50, was produced by seasoned youth and cultural organizers
TaskForce, BigBowl of Ideas, Soze, 1215 Creative and several
other high-profile youth and arts partners.

Truth To Power was an art gallery and event series, designed to


raise awareness for the important issues facing youth today. It
took place July 25th - 27th in Philadelphia to coincide with the
Democratic National Convention in a pop-up space designed
specifically for this event. It featured nationally recognized
youth activists, visual artists, policy makers, musicians, poets
and more.

Manifest:Justice
May 2nd - 10th 2015
Los Angeles

Sponsored by Amnesty International and The California


Endowment, Manifest:Justice was a week long, high profile
pop-up art exhibition, event series, community convening
and public awareness campaign designed to bring together
and engage communities and artists around issues of
human rights and social justice.

Manifest:Justice resulted in significant social media, with over


10M+ shares of a single artwork that directly challenged
American policy decisions. Several pieces of art from
Manifest:Justice continue to be posted online regularly.

Taskforce curated and produced a bi/hyper-partisan


Gallery at Politicon in 2015 and 2016. The works by
celebrated illustrators, political cartoonists, street
artists and fine artists created a dynamic centerpiece
for the political powder-keg.

TaskForce also managed the social media channels,


which walked the fine line between left and right.
Tasked with getting people talking, selling tickets and
recognizing and lifting participating partners and
speakers, we like to think we put a few cracks in the
walls of the echo chamber.

New Years Eve Bash

TaskForce was invited by the County of Los
Angeles and the Los Angeles Mayors Office to
produce the first ever official Los Angeles
New Years Eve celebration at Grand Park/
City Hall.

Featuring a full stage production, the largest


ever 3D Mapping on the West Coast, art
installations and full transportation support
from Los Angeles Metro, the celebration was
a smash hit and has continued to grow year
after year.

MANIFEST:EQUALITY
MARCH 3RD - 7TH, 2010
LOS ANGELES, CA

In March 2010, TaskForce created Manifest:Equality, an


initiative for LGBT rights and marriage equality.

TaskForce launched an art contest and gallery, inspiring


visitors with a vibrant collection of visual works in the heart
of Hollywood in March 2010. The project offered a creative
framing for a vital conversation, earning substantial media
coverage and social-network visibility and building coalitions
that will remain passionately involved with this issue.

RE:FORM SCHOOL
OCTOBER 2010
New York City, NY
Produced in collaboration with Redu – which insists “Every child
deserves a great education” – TaskForce developed Re:Form
School, a group art exhibition, event series and awareness
campaign aimed at reforming the public-school system. The
project, which opened to the public in October 2010, enjoyed
sponsorships from Bing and the CAA Foundation; community
support from Rock the Vote, Urban Arts Partnership and Make
Something! (among others); and further support from forward
looking entities like ComicCon New York, Etsy, Street Attack
and KarmaLoop.com.

MANIFEST:HOPE
2006 - 2008
National Campaign

During the 2008 Presidential Campaign, TaskForce developed and


ran the “Hope Campaign” engaging more than 2,000 iconic
artists and cultural influencers across America and used
grassroots and cultural organizing strategy to develop a creative
movement to support Barack Obama. As part of this effort,
TaskForce partnered with MoveOn.org and others to create
Manifest Hope art show during the Democratic National
Convention, which was attended by more than 15,000 people
and the Manifest Hope show during the 2008 Presidential
Inauguration.

“WE WILL”
ROCK THE VOTE
2012

In 2012, TaskForce teamed up with Rock the Vote to


develop the brand and creative for the “We Will”
campaign, one of the largest non-partisan youth voter
campaigns in history. With Rock the Vote’s goal of
registering 1.5 million voters and engaging millions to
turn out this November – we created a compelling and
engaging city-focused campaign that empowers youth
to make their voice heard in the 2012 election.
#GoVote: 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018
#GoVote is a digital campaign designed to inspire people to head
to the polls. We engage artist to create images that say “Go
Vote” and provide them to people for free to share on their
social channels. In 2012 and 2014 #GoVote trended on twitter.
We reached millions of people through Facebook, Twitter,
Instagram and Tumblr. Artists like Shepard Fairey, Cheryl Dunn
and Oliver Jeffers all shared their #GoVote work, creating a
wave of momentum toward the polling place. This year, we aim
to create a tsunami, not just a wave.

THE CALIFORNIA ENDOWMENT


2013-PRESENT
CALIFORNIA

TaskForce worked with the foundation leadership to


reimagine how their statewide campaigns and
communications structures could more deeply
support the communities they serve. TaskForce
designed a new digital engagement strategy,
centered around culturally informed events and
interventions that resulted in a 10x increase in
social media engagement across every platform.

TaskForce also designed and launched


merchandising, marketing and out-of-home
strategies like #SchoolsNotPrisons,
@SonsAndBrothers, #Heath4All and #SodaKills on
behalf of The California Endowment - setting a gold
standard for how foundations engage with their
grantees nationwide.
