CATAPA - Train the Trainers Course - T3

Friday 9th – Sunday 11th December 2016

LOKEREN

In cooperation with:
1. Introduction
Dear CATAPISTA,

You signed up for The Train the Trainers course, organized by CATAPA. We wish you a very warm
welcome! The Train the Trainers course will take place together with CATAPA’s ‘Movement weekend’
which is organized for the 6th time. CATAPA as a volunteer movement wants to educate young
people to tell our story, to lobby and to do research on the subject of mining in Latin America.

The Train the Trainers course is part of Generation Transition, the project CATAPA (www.catapa.be)
has been working on for two years now, together with Putumayo (www.putumayo.be), Mediaraven
and Act4change (www.act4change.be), financed by the Flemish Official Development Cooperation,
and with a focus on the future generation. The scarcity and lack of natural resources is a very
valuable topic and challenge for this next generation: the students of today will be the managers,
teachers, artists, board directors, scientists and engineers of tomorrow.

With Generation Transition CATAPA wants to raise students’ awareness on this issue by training
them to deliver workshops about the scarcity of natural resources and ways to deal with it. CATAPA
believes in the internal capacities of youngsters and wants to maximize their skills by offering them a
challenging training programme. An intensive training will be offered to the participants in 2016-
2017. Filled with conferences, weekends, master classes, close support by coaches, professional
workshops, self-evaluation methods, etc. All this geared to the student’s academic schedule.

It doesn’t matter if you already know CATAPA or if you are completely new; this weekend will be the
perfect start to get involved! Our goal of the Train the Trainers weekend is not only to offer a lot of
information, but this weekend will also offer the perfect opportunity to get to know each other and
have fun!
