The developers of Hotel KOMPAS, Kranjska Gora, set in a popular skiing region of the Julian Alps in Slovenia,
required a roofing product that would blend with the natural surroundings, provide protection for their guests
and be able to withstand the harshest of nature’s extremes. Gerard Heritage was chosen for the strength
of its advanced interlocking system, the ability to hold snow on the roof preventing harm to people on the
ground, while still maintaining an aesthetically pleasing finish to the hotel.

ALUMINIUM-ZINC ALLOY COATED STEEL*
The primary protection for the steel is a coating of aluminium-
zinc which contains approximately 55% aluminium / 45% zinc
alloy by weight. The aluminium-zinc coating combines the
corrosion protection of aluminium with the sacrificial protection
of zinc, giving the protective advantages of both metals. A
significant benefit of the zinc component is that it even protects
areas of steel not completely covered, such as cut edges,
drilled holes, scratches etc. This all adds up to a significantly
longer service life.
