strength and less ductility).

ASTM Designation System

ASTM A 582M-95b (2000), Grade 303Se

“A” stands for “ferrous metals”, not only steel.
582 is just a sequential number, has nothing to
do with the properties of the metal.
“M” is for SI units (metric).
“95” is the year of adoption or last revision.
“b” indicates that it is the third revision.
(2000) is the year of last re-approval.
“Grade 303Se” indicates the grade of steel. In
this case, it has a selenium addition.
