-Initial Concept

‘In My Mind’, remixed by Dynoro & Gigi D’Agostino, is a dance song with no
particular narrative and can be perceived in many ways. I am taking this and creating my
own idea of the artist looking back on her life as to when she was homeless and would
dream of having money and being able to afford the lifestyle she wanted. She will see
hundreds of people walk past her everyday who are the same age as her but more
fortunate, which will make her think of how different her life could be if a miracle was to
happen. In the video, her dreams (happier times) will be shown in colour but her dark
reality is black and white to show the contrast. A miracle happens where a girl of the same
age takes her in and provides her to give her what she dreams of getting. Although the
video is negative, the positive message from the artist is that you can turn your life around.

-Target Audience
My target audience is young people who are media literate. Specifically, I am
focussing on people with low aspirations who need to receive the message that turning
you life around is possible (linking to the artist) to give them the inspiration to raise their
aspirations and begin to realise they cannot just dream of their goal lifestyle forever, like
what is shown in the video.
