• Pledge of Allegiance • Introductions from all members • Minutes from last meeting on 4-12-2017 approved • Guest Speaker- Cameron Ryba • PTA had to make a motion and approve a new by-law allowing Mr. Ryba to speak about the upcoming proposed school levy on the ballot this November • Talked about the SCS Operating Levy Frequently Asked Questions, can find this document link in Mr. Stacho’s newsletter • Mr. Ryba welcomes any and all communicaton/questions via email • Teacher Representative- Mrs. Michelle Moteleski, 4th grade teacher • Thank you for the welcome back lunch on behalf of all staff • Treasurer- Glen Daniel • Looked over last report from 2017-2018 school year • Audit done by Marcy Wyldes, Bethany Wolters, and Monica Mossbarger • New Proposed budget for 2018-2019 school year • $375 Spark Crossfit donations made by all Strongsville elementaries for gym equipment, approved; our student council split with pta and will also donate $375 • Movie nights in January, our license for movies expires January 18th, so we will need to take another look at our dates; keep $200 budget for snacks • Removing Directory Spot and replacing with Smore for only $79 • Non-Allocated funds bumped to $350 for welcome back for students, decorations, and bulletin boards • Principal Fund is good • T-shirts changing to $2500, as we have been far under budget each time • We actually made some money on carnival last year, keep it up • Positive Behavior Initiative staying the same • Sports day, keep the same • Changes in fundraising… this year we are trying ChickfilA, Bakers Square, Sweet Frog, Yankee Candle, BW3, ReadAThon, Spirit Wear • Mrs. Gonczy asked to add a line item for $75 for Veterans Day for prizes for Boot Camp, approved • May consider adding Mitchells for art night… cost is $300 for 500 kids to have ice cream, so parents don’t have to pay • Mr. Leach asked for 2 tables, about $150… we will direct him to apply for a Whitney Grant or a Council Grant • There are 3 possible Ohio PTA grants we could apply for, will look into • Line item added for mandatory Kindergarten pictures, $25 • State and national dues… raised line item to $900 • We are supposed to be carrying over only about $4000 per year • Adding DARE for our 5th graders, need budget of $200 • Budget approved, no further discussion • 3rd VP- Mr. Stacho • Student Council fundraiser due Sept. 12 • Picture day is September 21, panoramic taken at end of day, weather permitting • If you have anything for Mr. Stacho’s newsletter, please send it ready to cut and paste in, by Wednesday each week • Corresponding Secretary- Nancy Daniel • Tons of TY for Staff Appreciation week • TY for popcorn and cotton candy on first day • TY for Welcome Back lunch • President’s Report- Leah Tornebene • Room 5 is now Mrs. Dlouhy’s kindergarten room.
