Cover Letter

Respected madam/sir,

I am conducting a research study on work motivation and job satisfaction within the organisation for
academic purposes. It would be greatly appreciated if you would assist by completing the attached
questionnaire. As a part of my project I would like to gather some information from you which will
help me in an in-depth study of project.

This research explores the determinants of job satisfaction and its relation to motivation among
tertiary teachers and non-teaching staffs in University of Mascareignes. The research will identify what
factors motivate the students enrolled in the University of Mascareignes to progress on the academic
as well as physical levels.

As part of my investigations I am hoping to gather some data from practicing teachers and non-
teaching staffs relating to their work and their feelings towards it. To do this I have prepared a
questionnaire that explores different aspects of the job.

There are three sections to be completed. Firstly, there is a questionnaire on work motivation and
secondly, one on job satisfaction, followed by a third questionnaire on personal data.

It should take approximately 15 minutes to complete both questionnaires. Please note that there are
no right or wrong answers.

I would be obliged if you co-operate with me in filling the questionnaire. Please be assured that all
responses will remain confidential, all respondents will remain anonymous and only grouped data will
be presented.
