Read the following statements carefully before you observe.

1. Go around the Learning Resource Center.

2. See what learning resources are present.
3. Examine how the materials are arranged and how they are
classified. Are they free from dust and moisture? Are they
arranged for easy access?
4. Look for the guidelines/procedures for borrowing of materials.
Are these guidelines/procedures posted or available for the users
to refer to?
5. Familiarize yourself with the guidelines and procedures.
You may choose to take a photo of the display board (if allowed).
 As I look around inside the school which is Gloria Marizz Academy I see
their good resources like Computer Room, Library Room, TLE Room, and
Science Laboratory. Their facilities which are Basketball Court,
Canteen, their Administrative Office, Guidance Room, also their School
Buildings.

 Library

The students are free to read and research the other

references to support the learning and provide the quality
education. Some books are used to be a reference in the
class. And the Decorations and displays of the library that
create a welcoming environment to all students.

 Computer Laboratory

. This facility is the only way how to get some information by the
used of Internet.

 Technology and livelihood Education

Laboratory (TLE)

The TLE Room is a learning resource wherein you can

find tools and equipment like in our home and support the
need of their students in they need to experiment or to
cook that relates in their activity.

 Guidance Office
This office it is guided us what is wrong and what is
right, and then give them punishment to nurture them not
to torture. And give us a advice and lesson to learn in our
life.

 Science Laboratory

The Science Laboratory is used by the students to

perform their activity and experiments to learn by their own
experience to do the experiments.

 Administrative / Principal Office

This room or facility are the office of the Principal,

No one can go inside without any permission of her/him.

 Canteen

It is used to buy any foods and drinks of the students. And so without this the
student was easily hungry anytime.

Your Analysis

Were the learning resources/materials arranged properly according to their

functions and characteristics?

 The learning resources/materials were arranged carefully for the

easy access of the students. For example, the books was inside a
cabinet located inside the designated area together with the other
important items and materials that can be used anytime by the
students.

Do the guidelines and procedures facilitate easy access to the materials by the
teachers? Why? Why not?

 Yes, the guidelines are pretty much simple and the teachers can
easily access the materials because the in-charge of the facilities is
always around. The school implemented some of the own set of
rules that will facilitate access to the instructional materials
because of these, they can maximized the use of each material for
the sake of the students.

What are the strengths of this Learning Resource Center?

1. Easy access on various learning resources and materials.

2. Competent teachers for assistance

What are its weaknesses?

 The library needs better lighting especially during cloudy days and
better ventilation on warm humid days.

What suggestions can you make?

 The school should produce additional learning resources/materials

like books to accommodate the needs of each student.

My Reflectios

 Which of the materials in the learning resources caught your

interest the most ? Why?

Among the materials in the learn resources at GMA ,the books really
caught my interest because ever since I was a kid I really love reading books,
despite some difficulty in relating some topics.

2. Which gadgets/materials are you already confident to use/operate?

 The gadget that I am very confident to use it the computer that is

because I already have the skill which I obtained from the various
experiences I had from the past.

3. Which ones do youfeel you need to learn more about?

 There are things that I want to learn more especially about

technology. It’s the curiosity inside that gives me to learn more
about it.

BULLETIN BOARD DISPLAYS

Your Target

At the end of this activity, you will be competent in appraising the

effectiveness of displays boards as learning resources.

YOUR TOOLS

As you look around and examine board display, use the

activity forms provide for you to document your observation.

An Observation Guide for BOARD DISPLAYS

Read the following statements carefully before you observe.

1. Go around the school and examine the board displays. How
many board displays do you see?

 DepEd Mission and Vision the School's Rule's and Regulation. It

was located at the gate. The Second Board contains the monthly
events and the upcoming events. The third board display contains
the School's Announcement. Every post and activities have clearly
in good information.

2. Where are the displays board found? Are they in places

where target viewers can see them?

 As I see this bulletin it is simple but full of knowledge. They use

some papers in designing and pictures that is related to the month
of july.

3. What are the displays about? What images and colors do you
see? How are the pieces of information arranged?

 I will suggest adding more design that jibe to the topic or to the
theme, adding more information that helps the learners to learn
more. And add more appropriate information like such as trivia
corner, or message for the day to catch the attention.

4. What materials were used in making the displays?

 The materials uses are chart, pictures and colored

materials.
An Evaluation Report of a Bulletin Board

1. Did the board display design reflect the likes/interests of its target
audience? Why? Why not?

Yes, the display actually reflects the interests of its target audience
because it tackles about nutrition and it catches the viewers of different kinds
of fruits and vegetables.

2. Was the language used clear and simple for the target audience to
understand? Why? Why not?

Yes, the language used is clear and simple – in fact the diseases are
written in Filipino and in English..

3. What do you think was the purpose of the board display? Was it effective?
Why? Why not?

I think the purpose of the board display is to know the update of the
school program or activities. It is effective specially to the parents and
students because they will exactly know easily to update.

4. What suggestions can you make?

Although the display is very effective, there must be another display

to balance its somewhat negative impression, like perhaps what happens when
one maintains a healthy lifestyle.
My
Reflections

1. Name at least 5 skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with
effective board displays. Elaborate on why each skill is needed.

The skills that a teacher should possess in order to come up with an effective
board display are

· Elegance – she/he must strive for balance between vibrant and conservative
design so that the

· Creativity – she/he must be able to come up with unique ways to portray

lessons or concepts.

message will be delivered properly.

· Ingenuity – she/he will be able to apply problem solving skills in coming up with
a display.

· Resourcefulness – she/he will be able to come up with an effective board

display using the available resources at hand.

· Innovativeness – she/he will be able to introduce contemporary topics to

his/her board display.

2. Which of the skills do you already have? Recall your past experiences in
making board displays. How do you practice these skills?

The skills that I already have are creativity, resourcefulness and

innovativeness. I do not have much experience in making board display, the one
that I could clearly remember was in elementary, but I am able to practice
these skills through the lessons in the Educational Technology course I am
taking right now. And I already have my skills in cutting flowers for designing
and cutting letters . I remember my last board display together with my
classmates which we need to emphasize the theme.
3. Which skills do you still need to develop? Reflect on how you can improve on
or acquire these skills.

I feel that I need to develop more elegance and ingenuity in coming up with
designs not only in making a board display and other instructional materials. I
can improve on these skills by constant practice and by research on various
designs helpful in coming up with instructional materials.

Episode 3

SEE AND SAY (Utilization of Teaching Aids)

Your Target

At the end of this activity, you will gain competence in determining the
appropriateness of teaching aids to learning tasks.

You Map

To reach you target, follow the steps below:

1. Observe a class on its regular schedule.

2. Note down the various teaching aids that were utilized in the teaching
learning process.
 As I observe inside the class the teacher use a right method and
strategy in teaching because the teacher get the attention of the
class.

3. Comment on the appropriateness of the teaching aids to the learning

asks.
 The book ,chalk and boards is a commonly use by the teacher

4. Reflect on your learning’s.

Your Analysis

1. What do you think prompted the teacher to choose the

materials/learning resources that she/he used?
The one thing that prompted the teacher to use the materials in the
lesson is appropriateness in fulfilling the lesson objective of the day
through a method that the students will enjoy.

2. What difficulties, if any, did the teacher experience? How can this be
managed?
The difficulties that the teacher had while the class was going on, is
primarily on making the students relate to the story (it was “Ang
Tipaklong at ang Langgam”, although the story was relayed in Cebuano by
the teacher). She was able to manage by gently explaining the story and by
pointing out experiences that they may have that relates to the story.

3. Over-all, were the learning resources/materials used effectively? Why?

Why not?
Yes, the big book really was effective in keeping the students attention
at the same time it enhanced their imagination.

My
Reflections

Put yourself in the place of the teacher. What would you do

similarly and what would you do differently if you will teach the same
lesson to the same group of students? Why?
I would probably do the same with the recitations of the syllables and I
would also have a storytelling session using a big book because of the
positive response of the students. But I will probably not include the
writing activity after the recitation because some students found the
activity not so interesting, so they began standing up and began talking.
FS 3 Technology in the learning Environment

Episode 4
Tools of the Trade (Teaching Aids Bank)

As you observed the class use the activity

Your Tools formsprovided for you to document your observation.

An Observation Guide

Read the following statements carefully before you observe.

1 Are there learning resources useful for your topic in the

resource center you visited?

2 Are the available materials appropriate for your target

grade/ year level?

3 List down those that can be useful for your topic.

4 What other materials can you make? (like flash cad, poster,
cut-outs, transparencies)?

1. Yes there are many learning resources in the school like

Library that the students can search other references aside
from the book that they have. For me they have updated
books to use as a references book and can help the teacher
and the students to learn a lot.
2. Yes, it helps the students to attain the knowledge given by
the teacher.
3. Puppet, Big book, pop up-book.
4. I can print out pictures that relevant to the topic or lesson
to be discussed.

My Reflectios

1. Which of the materials did you like making the most? Why?

AI especially liked the using the video analysis software because it enables the
class to analyze the components of motion of a certain object.

2. What difficulties, if any, did you encounter in making the materials? How did
you overcome them?

Making most of these materials on my own would be really difficult but some
can be made with the help of professionals who have expertise and the proper
equipment. In order to overcome such difficulties, I will just find alternative
materials that are readily available and affordable.

3. What tips can you give teachers regarding preparation of teaching materials?

In preparing teaching materials teacher should know if the materials are easy to
provide and easy to understand by the students and more colorful so that the
students will focus.

4. What type of graphic organizer –chart /schemas do I
need to use?
The Big book or pop up book.

5. What references do I use?

I use book and internet to support my lesson

Your Analysis

1. What are the good features of a handout?

A good handout helps students prepare for the coming lesson. Also, it must
give the students a clear description of the activities or procedures that they
have to do in order to understand the lesson.

2. Which of these features are present in the handout I made?

In the sample, I have already given a good contrast and All of these are
present on handout I made.

3. Which features are not present in the handout I made?

The sample I made lacks concept elaboration and examples for application.
My Reflectios

1. What difficulties, if any did you encounter in making the handouts? How did
you overcome them?

All information that students will known is on the handout but you need to be
more specific and the information should put in be more understandable by the
students.

2. What tips can you give teachers regarding preparation of handouts?

In making handouts, it is always best to start with an outline so that one will be
guided on what topics to include. Now, it might be time-consuming to create
one’s own illustrations, but then you can always use this illustrations for other
instructional materials like exams and slide presentation

Episode 1

“THERMOMETER CHECK”

Your Target

At the end of this activity, you should be able to describe through your
reflection of how the school promotes partnership and dialogue.

You Map

For this process, go through the following steps:

1. Visit a school and study its vision, mission, and goals in relation to the
school’s curriculum.
2. Observe the interaction between and among students, teachers and
other school personnel.
3. Write down your observation and discuss with your classmates and FS
teacher.
4. Generate insights from your observation and discussion.
5. Reflect on your experiences.
My Observation Report on Interaction

Student-to-Student Interaction Patterns:

Interaction between the students more time consume than their interaction
to their teacher inside the classroom. Those students interact to their seatmates
that are not with the subject. More on boys are so talkative to their classmate
whether they have the teacher or more. Everyone has their own topic but not
related into the lesson.

Student-to-Teacher Interaction Patterns:

Always show their best while the teacher was around. It can be observed
in classroom during discussion student to teacher.

Your Tools
Teacher-to-Student Interaction Patterns:

Teachers are concerned to the needs of every students that why they never
stop teaching every day. They want to share their knowledge and to educate each
student. Teacher is the most respective person in the classroom.

Student-to-Non-Teaching Personnel Interaction Patterns:

They show courtesy by means of interactions. They respect the non-teaching

personnel as teachers.

Teacher-to-Teacher Interaction Patterns::

This interaction can also be best observed during break time at the canteen
here teachers regularly gather for snacks.
Enriching Activities

Create a scenario where any of tthe above interactions occur in the school.
Make a script of their dialogue, bearing in mind that this partnership is built on
developing a climate of respect, harmony and cooperation.

My Script
(Teacher-to-Student-Interaction)

Teacher: Good Morning Grade 5

Student: Good Morning

Teacher: Okay Let us pray.

Student: Our Father in heaven...

Teacher: please arrange your chair.

Student: Yes

Teacher: get your Science book and open to page 32.

Teacher: Read the first line.

Student: ballpens, marker, table and crayons make line two.

Teacher: It means all objects that makes line are can use.

Teacher: Did you understand?

Student: Yes
Teacher: Okay on page 32, answer the activity. Read the instruction together.

Student: Color all the straight line and circle all the non-straight line.

Teacher: Start now and be quite.

After 10 minutes

Teacher: Class are you done to the activity?

Student : Yes

Teacher: Put your boon to my table

Student: Okay

Teacher: Put all your things insde your bag

Student: Were done

Teacher: Stand up and let us pray.

Student: Angel of God

Tteacher: Goodbye Grade 4

Student : Goodbye Teacher, Goodbye Classmates See you tommorrow.

Your Analysis

Why is a classroom a miniature of a greater society?

There are different kinds of people; those who work hard, those who play hard,
those who do both and those who do neither.

What are found in the classrooms that are similar to what can be observed in
society?

We can find different personalities inside the classroom: They have different
kinds of attitude, opinion, interest and dreams so as in a society. Varied
personalities exist.
The Cooperation and Partnership must come together because they are
interrelated to each other in designing, selecting or choosing content and
activities and the determination of what to evaluate.

The Cooperation and Partnership in a Curriculum Design is very important

because if there is a partnership, not only single idea can be presented but
several which will contribute to a better concept for Curriculum Design and if
there is a cooperation, the task involved will be easier since the persons
involved can work hand in hand for the success of their work.

We discuss about how students socialized with other students on what are
they talking when there is no classes when there are classes. We also discusson
students cooperation during classes. And whose students are actively

Your Target

At the end of this activity, the students should be able to describe the
interaction pattern that occurs between the teachers and learners as provided
in the curriculum.

You Map

For this process, go through the following steps:

1. Visit a school and observe how the teacher provides the opportunity to
the learners to interact with one another in doing one’s roles.
2. Record how roles are performed by the teacher and the learners.
3. Make your own documentation of the dialogue or conversation based on
the observed roles that each one performs which you feel could have
been livelier.
4. Highlight the aspect of the dialogue that indicates the teacher as a role
model in developing the values in the process of learning.

Your Tools

My Observation Report

Observations:

Pupils are responsive to the learner. The teacher corrects the pupils if their
answers are wrong.

Situation

(Describe how the teacher communicates the lesson and howthe learners are
responding to the teacher. Take note at the manner the teacher accepts or
rejects the responses of the learners. You may present your observations
through direct quotes from the teachers and learners in the dialogue.

Personal Reflection on the Dialogue

The teacher did not reject the wrong answer of the pupil. She did not tell
directly "that is wrong" but instead, she said that it is meaning of the other
sentence. I think it is effective because it did not made the pupil feel rejected
or downed unlike if he was told "your answer is wrong " the pupil may feel
somehow that he is humiliated, and this may cause him lose self esteem.
Your Analysis

How important are dialogue and substantive conversations in the classroom

in terms of students' learning?

It is very important because the primary way of teaching learning is through

oral communication. Dialogue will help pupils express their ideas and feelings
and also help them learn from the teacher.

What learning benefits could teachers and students draw form intentional
classroom dialogue?

They will learn not only the lessons but also social interaction betweenone
another. Good conversations result in good and harmonious relationship.

Discuss with your FS classmates your thoughts on Cooperation and Partnership

in Curriculum Design. Then write down your thoughts as well as those of your
classmates. Please use the space below.

Dialogue is very important in curriculum design because thought this all

the person involved can express their ideas, opinions and insight which may
contribute undesigning.

Administration is a large part of teaching and so any experiences in this

area is usually favorable. Once a curriculum is in place, breakdowns can be

made of this. These are called syllabus and gives teacher an idea of what is to
be taught in a given month, week etc. Correlated to the theory of meriolistin

response to the commonality.Once the teacher receive these, they can start to

break them down further in the form of lessons plans.

3. Reflect on your experience.

The teacher constantly asked if she was understood or if the message

she’s trying to get across was grasp by students; seat work, quizzes, group

works, homework are also conducted to test and for the learners to show

evidence of their learning. In some instances, learners are asked to explain a

concept among Each other in a peer-to-peer activity to test their ability to

transfer what they have learned.
