1.0 SCOPE
This Report presents the Detailed
Analysis & Design of Pile cap for tower crane and cross check
against pile capacity for tower crane operating condition.

2.0 REFERENCE STANDARDS

BS 8110: 1997 (Structural Use of Concrete)
3.0 Load Assumptions
Dead Load
 The Dead Load density of concrete is taken as 24.5
KN/m3
 Self-weight of Pedestal = 6.9*6.15*1.7*24= 17.32 KN
Live Load
 Tower Crane Load

As tower crane is not @ center of pile cap, we added extra

moment due to eccentricity.
Moment due to eccentricity

Me = P*1.505 = 1111.79*1.505= 1674 KNm

Therefore total Moment = My+Me=5639.9+1674 KNm = 7313.14 KNm

 Load coming on Pile

Total Compression Load = 1111.79+17.32 =1129.11 KN
Total Tension Load =
M/Spacing between the piles = 7313.14/2.63 = 2780.66 KN

4.0 Assumptions, Material Properties

 Concrete grade is C40

 Yield Stress of steel Fy 450 N/mm2
