Big Ideas:
 A civilization’s history and physical location can determine its success over time.
 Competition for resources and wealth can cause conflict.
 Some groups do not have access to the same resources as others.
 There are many forms of government that distribute wealth differently.
 Religions can affect many aspects of life, including government rules.

 Why was there conflict in the Eastern Hemisphere?

 What are specific examples of inequality in the Eastern Hemisphere?
 Why were some countries able to dominate others?
 How do countries develop their form of government?
 How did religion’s role in government in Europe change over time?
 How can early civilizations determine the make-up modern-day civilizations and
