be extremely helpful for life in general for personal
statements.
Verbal:
Informal – ability to network easily 15 I can communicate well with people, but I am not very
with other people confident at all about doing this, but it is extremely helpful
in my job and a must for my job so I need to learn how to
do this well and successfully.

clearly and concisely to a group of myself well to friends, tutors and those I know but not
people with the confidence that I require. I need to be able to do

because it will be helpful especially in front of students.
WORKING WITH OTHERS
Cooperation
Ability to collaborate effectively within 6 Having the ability to work as a team in teaching isn’t too
a team important as you usually work solo and the only time you
need to work as a team is during training. However I have
the ability to work quite well as a team whatever the
situation, due to current work.
Negotiation
Ability to reach a mutually satisfactory 12 Having the ability to compromise is pretty important in
outcome through compromise teaching as you’re going to have to make compromises a
lot especially when it comes to different people's needs

and this will take compromise. I am quite good at
compromise and learning to accept that things have to be
done on the terms of two people rather than just one
persons need.
Sensitivity
Ability to respond appropriately to 10 This is important because things change and new beliefs
individual differences, e.g., age, gender, and cultures become a thing and these need to be accepted
etc. rather than ignored or someone to be made uncomfortable
by. In teaching, children will go through different things,
decide different things and also will be different to another
student and it’s about taking these into consideration to
provide the best for the student. I am quite good at this
especially from working with a team with many different
ages, sexualities and genders.
Leadership
Ability to encourage and motivate In teaching you have to encourage and motivate students
others regularly so they can achieve the very best, this means that
you’ve got to be positive and motivational at any point
possible. This is something that I feel I’m quite good at but
could do with a lot of improvements to achieve my full
best to a level I could encourage students to be their best.

work.
Ability to evaluate competing priorities 16 Planning things in order of priority is important within
to plan ahead teaching as students need to be taught in order of units and
subjects, but also they need to be taught successfully and
