In this Journal describes the introduction of computers, such as about the development of

computers from the first generation to the fifth generation, describes the computer system, and
explain what is software, hardware, and brainware

Journal Advantages:
1. We are given what is a COMPUTER
2. Knowing about computer classes
3. Knowing about the history of computer development from time to time
4. Knowing about Software, hardware, and brainware
5. Can easily understand Electronic data processing

Journal's Weaknesses
1. There is no detailed description of the use of computer systems
2. There are no examples of images of software, hardware, and brainware
3. No explanation how to use the computer from the first generation to the fifth generation.

Note:
The development of computers from time to time always increased. At first the computer was
not a tool created for many uses as we observe today. In the past, computers were created
only as a tool to simplify the calculation or more easily as a mathematical calculator. But
along with the development of this computer age continues to evolve into a versatile
machine, especially in the field of industry and research.

Abstract

Before we all learn more about computer, we have to learn what, how, why and how a computer
can work. As a provision for you who Insha Allah can be useful in the future. In this article I will only
cover the general outline of:

Introduction to Computer

Electronic Data Processing (PDE)

Cycle of data processing

Computer system
Analysis
Summary:

A. COMPUTER DEFINITION

Human life today seems to have been unable to be released from technology, especially Computers.
In fact, many of today's computer-based equipment is commonly used and owned by the public,
such as personal data assistant (PDA), global position system (GPS), mobile computer (desktop,
laptop), mobile phone (HP), translator,

Computer (computer) is taken from computare (latin latin) which means calculate (to compute or to
reckon). The original computer word was used to describe people whose work performed arithmetic
calculations, with or without tools, but the meaning of the word was then transferred to the
machine itself

B. COMPUTER HANDLING

The latest literature classifies computers based on four things, namely data that is processed, use,
shape and size, and generation.

1. Processed data
A. Analog Computer
Analog computers are used to process qualitative data, work continuously, and not numerical data,
but in physical and parallel forms. It usually does not require an intermediate language. For example:
a computer used to adjust the temperature, speed of sound, and electrical voltage

B. Digital Computer

Digital Computers are used for processing or quantitative (letters, numbers, and combination of
letters
Numbers, as well as special characters). Biasanay requires language

Intermediary one of them is PC Computer (PC is personal Computer), laptop, and the like.

C. Hybrid Computers

Hybrid computer is a combination of analog computer and digital computer, for example facsimile
.
2. Usage

A. Computer for Special Purpose (special purpose computer)

This computer is used specifically and has a working function; Eg as server, PC Router, or
dumb terminal

B. Computer for General purpose (general purpose computer)

This computer is used in general, for example for graphic processing, multimedia processing,
processing
Database and other program processing.
2. ELECTRONIC DATA PROCESSING (PDE)

Electronic Data Processing (EDP) or electronic data processing (PDE) is the manipulation of data into
a more meaningful form of information by using an electronic device that is computer (Jogiyanto,
H.M, 1988).
Some understanding

Data is a collection of events raised from a reality in the form of numbers, letters or special symbols
or combination thereof

Data processing (data processing) is the manipulation of data into a form more useful or more
meaningful form of information

Information is the result of data processing activities that provide a more meaningful form of an
event.

Origination: The process of collecting data in the form of the process of recording
data to the basic document

Input: The process of entering data into the process komoputer through input devices (input
device)

 Processing: The processing of data with a processing device (processing device) in the
form of the process of calculating, comparing, classifying, sorting, controlling, or looking in
storage

 Output: The process of generating output from the data processing by using the output tool
(output device), ie in the form of information.

Distribution: The process of distributing output to the rightful party and requiring
information
4. Sistem Komputer

HARDWARE: The physical equipment of the computer itself. Equipment that is physically
Can be seen, held, or moved

SOFTWARE: an operating procedure of the computer itself or any of the procedures for pre-defined
data processing.
 BRAINWARE: people who work directly using a computer as a tool, or people who do not work
directly using a computer, but receive the work from a computer in the form of a report.
