Overall aim and context of the lesson

To let the students identify the letter Mm and know the sound of it and how to write it.

SWC Lesson Reflection (Completed after EVERY lesson taught)


Select (S):

I taught KG 1 section A today an English lesson which was about sound Mm, I start the lesson by showing
them how to write the letter and tell them the sound of the letter. We make a warmer activity with
“hello” song, also we sing the sounds song. Then, I showed them a hat and let them guesses what inside
it, I was putting things that start with sound Mm such as: monkey, moon, and mango, the students like
this starting for the lesson and they were engaged in the circle time.

Describe (D):

The lesson was for kindergarten 1 section A, I taught the lesson in the circle time and in the activities
“corners” area. In my lesson I tried to let the children understand the new sound and how to write it in
some different ways by the activities. The students like the active engagement that I did it in the circle
area, also they enjoy doing the letter Mm activity with the small colorful papers. The activities attract
their attention and they were engaged with it, they like it because the activities was new for them to try
them.

Analyze (A):

The students like the activities and they understand the sound E, because they like the hat engagement so
they remember the sound and the words that start with it. My teaching was related to the students prior
understanding because some of them know the letter from before they just don’t know the sound and the
action of it. I engage the students well with the introduction activity and other activities in the corners
area.

Appraise (A):

It was a good lesson, the students were engaged in the lesson and they like the activities and trying to
make the activities that it’s new for them. The lesson meets my goals so the students understand the
letter and the sound, I understand this when I make the final assessment for them.

Transform (T):

I might enhance student’s learning in the future by using with them some strategies that will help them,
the professional practice helps me a lot in my teaching, I am learning more every day to be a good
teacher and use a lot of good strategies.
