1. How long have you known the applicant and in what context?

Have you served as the

applicant's supervisor? If so, please provide approximate dates. Please comment upon the
frequency and nature of your interactions with the applicant.

It was 2010, when Adeel was pursuing his under grad course in Electronics Engineering from
IIITDM, one of the reputed Colleges in India, situated in the city of Jabalpur, also is my home town.
I first met him in the college campus for his reputation of solving Rubik’s cube in a matter of
minute. It was a talk in the city. My curiosity led me to meet him in his campus during one of my
visits to the college and happened to meet him for a brief period. I was so impressed for his
knowledge, talent and special traits he has during the talk. Since then I was in continuous touch
with him and he used to discuss with me on various subjects.

I never served as his direct supervisor but as an indirect contact in SSP PVT Ltd, I had a great
interaction with him in 2013 during his internship (May 2013 to Nov 2013) in our company. He
worked as an internee to accomplish a task for a process engineering design of “Instant Tea
Powder Manufacturing Plant”. He has amazing process engineering and computational skills. He
developed a process & mechanical design of a phytochemical project with substantial energy
savings which was successfully implemented in Ivory Coast.

2. What are the applicant's three principal strengths? Please provide an example of each.
A. Willingness to explore new challenges:
He initiated his interest and selected a cross engineering subject for his 6 month internship at
SSP Pvt. Ltd., which required extremely high knowledge in mechanical, chemical and process
engineering areas, during his 4th year bachelors in electronics and communication
engineering. He was able to bring to light a practical process engineering design for
phytochemical projects of the company with innovative ideas and strong technical skills in
mechanical and process engineering fields.
B. Exceptional Analytical skills:
His objective was to produce an acceptable process design by using his knowledge in cross
engineering fields and combining it with his computer language skills. He was able to show a
quick understanding of the process requirements as well as the design constraints. Over 5
months of rigorous work along with the coordinating and managing with his peers and even
his seniors in the field of process and engineering design, he finally was able to create a
combined mechanical and process engineering design.
It was presented in VB script for ease of working. His outstanding skills, determination to
achieve it, won high respect from most of the senior employees, which is otherwise not
possible even for senior design team to work on an extremely difficult project. The company
has been greatly benefited by implementing this new process technology commercially with
ease of work and substantial energy savings. It has increased the sales in some countries
around the world. Since 2014, our company has implemented the same design concept for
food and phyto chemical projects to our clients in four countries, including India and
generated a revenue of approximately US $ 8,000,000.00 in five projects till now.

C. Analyse the problems and then present multiple logical solutions:

Because of the nature of his work which involved getting into contact with the different fields
of engineering like Mechanical, Computer Science and Process Engineering.
3. In which three areas can the applicant improve? Please provide an example of each. How
has the applicant worked to address these areas?

A. Infrequent interaction:
The dedication and his speed of work had significant impact on senior design personnel, who
cannot allocate much time to an internee to provide specific inputs for the design. Adeel has
explored the ways to solve these obstacles by himself, which annoyed the peer group and led
to slow cooperation between him and the seniors. When he approached the IT head of our
company, the matter was discussed with his senior design group for a fast coordination. The
seniors reluctantly followed the advice but has some impact on Adeel’s work. Nevertheless,
Adeel managed the situations by persistence and perseverance. When his hard work and
endurance yielded a break through process design, the senior design group realised for their
ignorance and cooperated for the rest of the period.
Although it was a win-win situation at the end, the initial eagerness led to his impatience to
achieve the objective, a temporary gap was generated between his senior design team and
himself. Undoubtedly he has learned from this experience, but may require more
improvement on his psychological approach.

B. Too focussed on work:

During the internship period it was observed that he expressed some kind of introvert feelings
by isolating himself for short periods due to the pressure at work in the initial period of his
internship. Sometimes his focus on work in isolation seems to produce better outcome. .

C. Food Savvy:

To be honest, if there was any other area that would need improvement from his side, then it
would definitely by his eating habits. He practically lets himself go when it comes to eating
and doesn’t care much or rather at all of others come lunch time. Whether he is sitting with
senior management or his peers, he would never interact with others and immerse himself
into the food. Even if others try to initiate a conversation with him over the table, he simply
ignores it to concentrate on his food and only after he finishes his meal would he then get
back to any questions that were asked.

4. How does the applicant respond to constructive criticism?

Although he is a bit slow on taking any constructive criticism coming his way but he does
eventually takes it into consideration and slowly work on it. I would not say that he is highly
adaptable to criticisms but his response is definitely satisfactory in this regard.

5. Describe the impressions this candidate makes in meetings, presentations, interviews or

other important interactions.

He is definitely very professional and sharp, and is always ready with an answer. Although he
stumbles a bit initially during the talks but gains quickly for an interactive and meaningful
presentations.

He has a great presence of mind, even grey topics of which he does not know anything about,
he still manages to pull it off skilfully without giving any impression that he does not know the
topic. However, if the topic is something critical to the issue at hand, then he admits that he
does not know it and will work to find a solution. He really works on that issue at the first
opportunity till he finds an acceptable solution to the task

If you would like to provide any additional insights into this individual's candidacy, please
feel free to do so.

Adeel is head strong person who battles any issue or difficulty with no delays. He keeps his
cool and doesn't get discouraged by failures but in turn attempts to learn from his mistakes.
He is an exceptionally persistent individual who is mindful of his qualities and shortcomings.
His remarkable openness helps him gain people’s trust. Among all the years I have known him,
he tackles each obstacle with a smile. With his comprehensive skills and knowledge, he is able
to asses any situation and embrace it easily. Through all these years, I’ve been astonished to
see such a man that has the right mix of varied skills.
