Design Specification for BAS

1. Introduction

This Design Specification document (DS) defines detail of specification of BAS for AHU system. DS
describe how to build the control system for controlling AHU system. It explains the detail how to
develop system for implementing all functions that stated on Functional Specification document.

This document covers both hardware and software design specification. Inside software design
section, both software and software modules design specification will be mixed together.

This document is developed based on following documents:

o Schematic
o Point Schedule
o Functional Specification

2. Overview

To develop BAS using MC-Works products, need components as follow:

o HMI software: SCADA MC-Works

SCADA MC-Works is Human Machine Interface software for operator performing all controlling,
monitoring, troubleshooting, graphic editor and managing the HVAC system.
o PLC Controller: Mitsubishi L02CPU
Programable Logic Controller that man SCADA MC-Works manufactured by Mitsubishi for building
automation purpose. PLC holds all logics needed to perform all control and monitoring activities by
BAS. PLC use Master control and IO Module concept. There will be at least one master control and
several IO modules for any AHU system.
o Field Devices: Motorized Valve, Motorized Damper, Variable Air Volume, Variable Speed Drive
and Sensor/Transmitter
Field devices will drive the final elements on control system and send the measurement value from
parameters on site.
o HMI touch screen: GT2103
Human Machine Interface touch screen for operator performing monitoring sensor room.

All components above will be provided and developed by PT TIM following detail design as per stated
inside this design specification document.
