Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

Students can rewatch the video until they feel confident, I can use subtitles in another language, supports
multiple learning styles.
Lesson idea implementation:
Students will watch the video then listen to the teacher give more information and then allow students to do
some research on their own. The project is introduced using the teacher created video. The project will take a
week to complete. Student learning will be assessed based on the product they create to present the
information they learned.
The final product will be used to teach the class more about Martin Luther King Jr.. Students will also get to
see the information in multiple formats. Student learning will be extended by letting them research and be in
charge of the information. I will conclude the lesson by having the students present their products. Students
will receive written feedback and a rubric.
Importance of technology:
The multimedia authoring tool is critical as it lets students be the creators and it also displays the information
in a visual format. The project could be created without the technology, but the students would lose interest
and would learn less. The students can also use Green Screen or Stop Movie.
Internet Safety and Student Privacy:
Students could be at risk if their information and location were to be displayed with the posted video. I would
minimize risks by seeking parental permission and giving the students an alias. I would also make sure
student’s faces could not be seen.
Reflective Practice:
These activities will help students learn more by being more interesting. To further extend this lesson
students could create their own movie on one of the other historical figures. You could also use a Green
Screen or Stop Motion.
