2) Based on the graph, how many students would be expected to choose animated or action as
their favorite type of movie if there were 450 students in the class?

3) The drawing below will be enlarged proportionally into a poster. If the poster will be 19.5
inches wide, how tall will the poster be? Xxx

4) A shade of green paint is created by mixing a certain amount of yellow paint with a certain
amount of blue paint. The ratio of yellow to blue paint is 3:7. Based on this ratio, how much
yellow paint would be needed to prepare 5 gallons of green paint?
5) International exchange houses trade money from one country for money of another country.
This process makes trade between countries easier. If the rate of exchange for the Indian
Rupee (INR) and the Japanese Yen (JPY) is 45 INR : 30 JPY, how many INR would be

percent expressed as a fraction and decimal?

9) Jacob has been helping his mother make strawberry jam.This afternoon they made 3.5
gallons of jam. They are going to store the jam in pint- sized jars. Create a proportion that could
be used to convert 3.5 gallons to pints.

10) Alvin is taking a bus to a ski resort. The bus traveled 174 miles in 3 hours at a constant rate.
Create a proportion that can be used to predict how many hours it will take to travel 696 miles to
the ski resort if the bus continues at the same rate.

11) A local store is selling 6 bottles of glue for $3.78. Use a scale factor to calculate the cost of
42 bottles of glue.

12) A school reporter surveyed a sample of sixth grade girls about their favorite Friday night
activities. Sixty-five percent, or 39 girls, selected going to the movies as their favorite activity.
How many girls did the reporter survey?

13) Cameron has budgeted 19%, or $240 for meals during his full trip. What is the total budget
for the trip?

14) There are 90 dogs and 150 cats at an animal shelter. Of these animals, 9 dogs and 27 cats
receive medication daily. What percentage of the animals in the shelter receive medication
daily?
