presidents report
This year has been yet another amazing adventure as the Metamorphic team and all of our partners contributed to
an enormously pleasing result. With a record turnover in excess of $AUD1.6 million, our effectiveness and
influence grew to a new level.
There were many highlights in the past12 months, including the development of our core team. Each member of the team has done
an outstanding job and risen to new heights as their passion grows for those in need around the globe.
Our Church planting department excelled once again, training 156 new Church planters taking our total since 2002 to more than
2,200 first generation Churches. To date our auditing figures show that those Churches plant on average another 4.2 Churches per
year, which will result in 655 further Church plants. All of these Church plants are supported by a small business and each of them is
vitally involved in a community transformation program.
The micro-enterprise department also had a great year helping with more than 175 micro loans aimed at relieving poverty and
impacting local economies. These loans are targeted to not just help the individual but to also create local employment and inspire
creativity and enterprise. The range of businesses is vast with the majority still being in the rural sector.
In the community department we had the biggest changes as we began our first of many HIV clinics, launched our community
adoption strategy and continued with the Water4Water Initiative with the digging of wells and training locals in areas such as
hygiene and sanitation. This year also saw us partner to establish a school in Tanzania as well as training and assisting Church planters
to impact their Communities.
A very positive result all around, as together we work to make the world a better place.
Grace, Honor,
Lindsay Clarke
President & Founder

the vision
the mission
To outwork the gospel in practical expression by breaking the
poverty cycle and producing innovative development solutions for
all, regardless of religious and ethnic background or gender.
the organisation
We are a non-government Development Ministry/Organisation
that was launched on 1 April 2002. We have strategic partnerships
in more than 20 nations and facilitate both Church-based and
secular programs and projects aimed at building the capacity of the
poor, disadvantaged and uninformed. We are driven by a passion
to bring transformation and restoration to those in need. We
consult with communities on four continents as cultural and change
architects.
the name
The name Metamorphic comes from the Greek word for
transformation and encapsulates who we are as a transformation
network. In everything we do, our intention is to empower people
to transform their lives and communities and assist them to achieve
their full potential.

the culture
Our culture – who we are – is expressed in the way we operate, both as a team and
with the people we serve around the globe. It’s also expressed in everything we
do with and for people. Metamorphic culture is best summed up as ‘Grace, Honor,
Affirmation, Abundance and Partnership’.
Grace is simply giving people favour and help regardless of their situation or background. It’s giving
people another chance… and then yet another chance. Grace is believing that all human beings
should have an opportunity to transform their lives. It is our commitment to help people achieve this.
Honor is showing respect to all people from every persuasion. It is about empowering people to
move forward and reach their full potential by building their capacity and encouraging them to excel.
It’s giving people permission to dream and achieve. It’s helping people to win in all areas of life.
Affirmation is helping people see the best in themselves and in others. It is opening people’s eyes to
the amazing reality that every human life is valuable and full of purpose. At Metamorphic, we love to
encourage people and assist them to build their self-esteem, on a personal and community level.
Abundance is what we see. It’s our understanding that there are enough resources on the planet to
ensure all people can live healthy and prosperous lives. One of our primary focusses is to assist the
poor to recognise the assets and opportunities that already exist in their communities. At Metamorphic,
we always live generously and train others to be the same.

metamorphic church planting
Our focus on Church planting for this year focussed primarily on four nations – Myanmar, Cambodia, Kenya and
DR Congo – with some great results and rapid growth. All of our Church planters go through our Metamorphic
Boot Camp where they learn about Personal, Church, Community and Business Development. This is then
followed by a two-year mentoring program that teaches them how to be successful in all areas of life. With
students from the past two years we have 420 Church planters currently in the mentoring program and/or basic
training.
In Cambodia, we once again based our training in Takeo Province where we trained
another 22 Church planters. Our staff at Metamorphic Asia did a great job organising the
training.
Myanmar saw us train another 35 Church planters, which was our largest class for several
years in this nation. And a good class it was! The momentum we have in Myanmar is
fantastic and the potential growth very encouraging.
DR Congo was a new initiative in one of the most needy and disturbed nations on earth.
We trained 58 Church planters in two sittings. There were some great quality people in
attendance and I am sure there are many things we can do to bring change to DR Congo.
We continue to look for ways to have a significant impact on this war-torn part of the
world.

Sokna Sea - 2011 Class, Cambodia
There are many individual stories – far too many to write about here – but the following is a story of one of our typical Church planters, Sokna
Sea from the 2011 Cambodian class.
Sokna Sea planted her Church in April 2011 and has grown it from 21 to 58 people. Additionally she has implemented a community
development program targeted at reducing the high rates of preventable illnesses in her community. Sokna conducts two 30-minute sessions
each week in two local communities, educating individuals and families on hygiene and sanitation practices. Typically, it is mostly women who
attend these sessions. They then return to their homes and implement the new practices. Most of these women have reported a significant and
noticeable decrease in preventable illnesses and an increase in general health within their homes. Furthermore, Sokna has recently initiated a
small chicken breeding business venture and has seen a 25 per cent increase in her income in just a few short months. Sokna is having a positive
and tangible affect in her community. Her business venture is providing her with the experience and increased financial freedom to both set an
example of good business practices as well as the time to spend addressing issues of poverty in her community.
10
Suk - 2011 Class, Cambodia
One of our business people this year, named Suk, opened a small grocery store in a mid-sized village. She continually reinvested her profits
into the business and added any other money that her family could earn. Over the year, Suk’s business expanded tenfold and she now has the
biggest grocery initiative in the region with stock worth thousands of dollars in her shop. Suk has taken her profits and further invested into
animal husbandry, raising chickens, pigs, quail and goats.
Suk began with a loan of just $450 and now has a business worth an estimated $8,000 and growing.
We have many stories of great triumphs among our business people but probably the greatest impact is with multiplication as many of our
graduates then teach others how to do business and break the poverty cycle. We even have business people that now loan money to the poor
just as it was first loaned to them.

12
metamorphic community
This year has seen an expansion of our influence and effectiveness through Community development through all of
our Churches and also in other programs and projects in Cambodia, Burundi, Tanzania, and Kenya.
We were able to continue the Water4Water program in Cambodia helping more than 10,000 people gain
clean safe drinking water for the first time in their lives. With the provision of concrete wells, pump wells and
RDI filters we have been able to continue to be a part of the solution in this crucial arena. With every water
project, we also commit resources to training in sanitation and hygiene (WASH) so that whole villages are
transformed. As hygiene improves, so does the people’s health and local productivity.
This year also saw us partner with a group in Tanzania on an education project involving construction of a
school. The school already has 70 students and six staff members. It is predicted that the school will cater for
another 60 students over the next six months as the final two classrooms are built. The school also conducts a
livelihood project that is assisting with providing nutrition for the children.
Our child sponsorship program has also been effective in supporting more than 20 children that were left
orphaned as a result of the 2008 ethnic violence. With each child having no known relatives as a result of the
murder and mayhem of that time we simply need to help. these kids are being educated and looked after by
our friends at WOF Kenya.
HIV is a massive problem in Africa and we came across several communities in Burundi where the HIV infection
rate is well over 30 per cent – possibly as high as 50 per cent. Sitting in a clinic that was about to run out of anti-
retrovirals and knowing that one out of every three people tested get a death sentence is disturbing. So we
decided to do something about it and formed a partnership with Donors without Borders and a local facilitator.
This partnership has enabled us to put more than $1,000,000 worth of medications into these clinics.
This results directly in lives being saved and also children growing up knowing their parents instead of
becoming orphans. This program also assists the extended family and community as we endeavor to help these
people have a better life. As the program expands we will also embark on education programs to help in the
prevention of this continuing endemic.

Lindsay founded Metamorphic on 1 April 2002 with an overwhelming passion to plant more Churches than any ministry in history and then use that
leverage to break the poverty cycle in the developing world. Lindsay’s extensive ministry and business experience, particularly in the area of start ups
has helped him to build an outstanding team and organisation. Lindsay continues to be the chief innovator as Metamorphic continues to grow at a
fast pace. Lindsay is married to Julie and they have three children Brenton, Haydon and Riannon.

what next at metamorphic?
The 2011–12 year is looking great in every department at Metamorphic as we continue to build momentum. This
year sees us open an office in Europe to facilitate our new Church planting operation there. We will also launch
Metamorphic Africa and set up an office there, to further advance our current and future programs and projects.
In the area of Church planting, we will begin two new programs, including our first-ever program in Europe as
we begin work in Poland with some really quality people in April 2012.
Burundi is our other key focus and this program will also train Church planters from DR Congo in the future.
Burundi is one of the poorest nations on earth with nine million people and is in desperate need of help in all
three disciplines we teach. The President and the Minister of Health of Burundi have asked for our help and are
happy that our humanitarian activities will flow through our Churches.
Our Cambodian partner has asked us to double the amount of Churches this year and our partner in Myanmar
has asked us to re gear for this year and then commit to plant 80 Churches late in 2012. We have also been
asked to increase the Kenyan program from two programs a year to three, with a new program in western
Kenya that will also reach into Rwanda and Uganda.
In the area of business we expect to see similar growth in all of the above nations and increased prosperity
for those communities as many original loan recipients now take their second and third loans. We are also
expanding this operation to support HIV sufferers and to fund the doctors and staff in the clinics.
Metamorphic’s Community Development arms will match the growth of the rest of our network. This year
we have already planned and funded the beginning of Water4Water in Myanmar to add to the Cambodian
program.
We are also looking at the possibility of introducing Water4Water to Burundi. The HIV program will increase
in Burundi and we are looking to expand that to Kenya and Cambodia with more than a million dollars worth
of medication. We will continue to help with the orphaned children in Kenya and assist our Burundi partner to
place orphans with quality families in a community adoption program.
Further to that, we have invitations from the Presidents of the African nations of Ghana, Ivory Coast and
Burkina to discuss the implementation of our entire program in those nations.

Micro-enterprise:
We have opportunities to invest in our micro-enterprise pool in Cambodia, Myanmar, Kenya and Burundi to fund businesses for people affected by
HIV, to fund the support of orphans, and as whole village projects to break the poverty cycle. There are also opportunities to support our clinic staff
and church planters through investing in a business.

Metamorphic is also able to provide business opportunities for investors, particularly in large scale agricultural enterprises that make a profit, a
percentage of which goes to Metamorphic programs and projects.
