UNIT 1 : The Gifts of Youths M.S.

Generation Gap
Generation gap refers to the differences that exist between individuals from different
generations-- between people of a younger generation and their elders. The Generation Gap occurs
when older and younger people do not understand each other because of their different experiences,
opinions, habits, behaviours, spoken language, and fashion trends. Young people want to express
themselves and to enjoy independence and freedom. On the contrary, parents want to be sure that
their children are safe and sound; they want the best for them. That is why adults think that their
children are too young to make decisions alone. As a consequence, this leads to misunderstanding.
To conclude, people of all ages must become more tolerant and open-minded and must communicate
constantly with each other; communication plays an important role in bridging gaps between adults and youths.
