1. Letter of motivation (1–2 pages). Mention your interests and achievements during your studies and why you think you are
eligible for ESOP.
2. Pre-proposal for your Master’s thesis
Describe your prospective Master’s thesis project (incl. title, max. 500 words). The exact topic will be agreed with the thesis
supervisor during the programme. Make sure, that the proposal is in line with specific research fields of lecturers of the study
programme you apply for.
3. Two letters of recommendation from professors. If your desired Master’s programme also requires two letters of
recommendation, no additional letters are needed. If the programme requires one letter of recommendation, only one additional
letter is needed.
4. Copy of your transcript of records. Only applies to ETH students who intend to progress to a consecutive Master’s programme.
