CAUTION
Service Information Advisory. If you are not properly trained and certified in this procedure, ask your
supervisor for training before you perform it.
▶ You must read and understand the precautions and guidelines in Service Information, Function
Group 2, "General Safety Practices, Engine" before performing this procedure.

1. Clean around the fuel line connection.


2. Position a container under the component.

CAUTION
Risk of skin injury. High fuel pressure.
▶ The injection system may be pressurised.
When working on the injection system, remove
the first part cautiously

3. Remove the fuel line.


4. Drain the fuel.
5. Install the fuel line when the fuel is finished draining.

CAUTION
Risk of skin injury. High fuel pressure.
▶ The injection system may be pressurised. When working on the injection system, remove the first
part cautiously

CAUTION
Risk of material damage. Risk of impurities being introduced into the fuel system.
▶ Ensure conditions of maximum cleanliness when carrying out any work on the fuel system.

6. Perform this procedure when the condition below is met.


Conditions
● If not previously removed.

▶ Disconnect the connector.

7. Clean around the sensor.


8. Remove the sensor.

CAUTION
Risk of material damage. Component damage
could occur if debris enters.
▶ Cover openings to prevent debris from entering.

9. Cover or plug openings immediately.

10. Remove the protecting cover and plug.


11. Install the sensor.
Note
No sealant or thread locker should be used.
12. Torque tighten the sensor.
Tightening torque
Pressure sensor, common rail 40 ±5 Nm
(30 ±4 lbf⋅ft)

13. Perform this procedure when the condition below is met.

▶ Connect the connector.

6. Disconnect the connector.


7. Clean the sensor and the surrounding area.

8. Install a counterhold on the pipe.

CAUTION
Risk of material damage. Component damage could occur if debris enters.
▶ Cover openings to prevent debris from entering.

9. Remove the sensor.


10. Cover or plug openings immediately.

11. Remove the protecting cover and plug.


12. Install the sensor.
Note
No sealant or thread locker should be used.

13. Install a counterhold on the pipe.

14. Torque tighten the sensor.


Tightening torque
Pressure sensor, common rail 40 ±5 Nm
(30 ±4 lbf⋅ft)

15. Connect the connector.
