Dear Ms. Johnston,

As a Nutrition and Dietetics student with an expected graduation date in the Spring of
2019, I am writing to you to express my interest in the Dietetic Internship at West
Virginia University Hospitals. I am seeking to match to your dietetic internship because I
understand that your program is one of the top in the nation. I also highly enjoyed
visiting your facility and speaking to you and John, one of your recent interns from your
program. I felt as though I was already at home as soon as I entered the hospital.

As I spoke with you, Ms. Johnston, I became even more excited over why I would be a
great candidate for your program. My scholiastic performance is high and I pride myself
in my grade point averages. My current DPD science GPA is at a 3.26 and my DPD
professional GPA is at a 3.69. I have also been mentored under a Community
Registered Dietitian, which has provided me great insight into learning how to educate
specific target audiences, especially children. I was able to exercise my excellent
organizational skills under the Community RD as well, since she bestowed the
responsibility of organizing her curriculum to me. I also believe you will find my unique
experience as a lab technologist to your benefit as an intern. I was exposed to multiple
events that grew my understanding in how the manufacturing process of dairy products
works from the timeline of research and development to the actual output of products.
This experience especially made me appreciate how vital it is to follow the guidelines
that have been developed for food management positions. In addition to these
qualifications, I have also been a research assistant at the University of North Florida
and have served in my local grocery store for over two years. Both of these experiences
have stretched and grown my customer service, training, and leadership skills. Overall, I
bring to the table a unique and diverse skill set that will work well in your program.
