Read the following case study: Inform Creative Interiors Inc. and answer
the following questions:
“My main role is to set up systems and structures for the Company to
grow and be a formidable player in the industry”, says Diana Mulili, the
co-director of Inform Creative Interiors Inc. Inform Creative Interiors has
been providing interior design and architecture services in the East
African region since it was started by Diana’s husband, Mr. Martin
Kyumba in 1998. The Company’s clients include ActionAid
International, PTA Bank, and African Trade Insurance. The Company
became incorporated in 2003. “That’s when I came in”, Diana says. She
has completed an undergraduate degree in Economics and Sociology and
has a background in management and marketing. “I came in to play the
managerial role. My husband is very technical”, Diana says. She is now
one of few women working in the construction industry. Inform Creative
Interiors envisages international expansion, but hopes to expand in
stages, first to the East African region, then to the Central and South
African region, and eventually to Europe.
